Honk, Cuidado, Wow, Hoping, Sigh

Honk! Fiorella's nose is running and she's clearing her throat a lot, but she hasn't been around unmasked people except her shelterers, who work from home and have a hand-washing rule for whomever enters the house. Fio also checks her thermometer thing, which tells her all is well.

Cuidado! Your girl is getting bored, which usually leads her to a frantic wave of activity and an attempt to save the world--or, at least, her world.

Wow! Daughter Alexandra visited Cedar Creek this afternoon, her new car loaded with bags of clothes for Fiorella--jeans, shirts, tops--the works, even including new make-up and hair clips. Next weekend, Fio, Son L and his family will be visiting Daughter's new home in Austin. No question about it--the Plum family is really moving along.

Hoping! Fio has left a message with Sonia Dog's vet and hopes she'll get an answer soon. Doggie can't stay in a deserted house forever.

Sigh! Fiorella also hopes that next weekend, the family will have time to empty out the the old house once and for all.

To Georgetown and Back

Fio's life has changed so much in the past three years--and is changing so much now--that she sometimes wonders who and what she is. Having packed away all one's belongings and being between houses does that to you.

Whew--your girl spent most of the day in Georgetown with son L, clearing out the old house. The day was dreary and the work was tedious, but we managed to get a fair amount done. The best part of the trip was Sonia Dog's reaction when she saw Mommy again.

The best part of getting back to Fiorella's temporary abode was her granddaughter's reaction when she saw Grammy again 💛

Has Fio told you that she is learning how to operate the changers to provide herself with episodes of Midsomer Murders  while she's in shelter? OMG--can an old dog be taught new tricks?

May God bless son L for all the assistance he has given her in regard to the new house. Take it from Fiorella--it hasn't been a picnic in the park.

What's Up with You, Girl?

Son L's in-laws' house is totally technologicalized, which leaves Fio totally in awe. All she herself does does is sit around, worry about her dog, and eat chocolate.

Just heard on TV that there's a lot of vaccine floating around out there somewhere, but that's not true for Fiorella's neck of the woods. Remember that her doctor referred her to Walgreens, Walgreens said to wait till February, and when February rolled around, Walgreens said to wait till March?

Fiorella is trying to find a good place for Sonia Dog to wait out the days until she is in her new home, but it's hard to do so when doggie's papers have been packed away and her vet isn't available to confirm that she's up to date with her shots.

The brightest spot in Fio's world right now is getting to know her granddaughter. The second brightest spot is  being the recipient of the kindness of son L's in-laws, whom she hadn't really gotten to know before.

Don't tell anyone, but Fiorella can't wait to get a start on the back yard in the new house. Spring come-ith!

From Sonia to Midsomer

Today is officially Dog Day for Fiorella, which means she will be seeking out a kennel that will welcome the sweetest BIG canine in the world. The leading contender for the honor is Bobbi Colorado in South Austin, a location Fio prefers because it's the area she will be living in henceforth, and also because Sonia will only have to make one travel trip before she views her new back yard.

But first, Fiorella will check in with Sonia's vet, who also centers in Austin.

Once her pathway is clear, your girl will return to her old house and pack up all doggie's meds and pills, then locate a car that is large enough to transport 130 lbs of pure love. Then, sooner rather than later,  Fio will also be hiring movers to clear out her heavy furniture and the boxes in the garage. Her clothes and shoes should be able to travel in the back seats and trunks of family cars.

But in the meantime, Fiorella is entertaining her granddaughter, who has a propensity for bouncing on beds and pulling pillows onto the floor to play the part of a bridge.

Fiorella is lulling herself to sleep with yet another edition of Midsomer Murders. Please, don't judge her.

From Tah-daah to Ah-haah!

Tah-daaah! Fiorella woke up early and spent an hour or so putting her temporary residence in order, which relieved her mightly.  Nothing like knowing where her clean underwear is.

She also, on her  own, took her mail to the mailbox out on the  road despite an extra high porch step that, because of a game leg, she hadn't been able to navigate before. If anyone had been around to watch, Fio wouldn't have attempted the step, but, because there's always a little voice inside her saying I wonder if..., she pulled her brain and muscles together, took a firm grip of the wooden porch spindles, and swung her weight down the step. She did the same thing to get back on the porch again, which was even harder because she's right-handed and her left arm had to do the lion's share of lifting.

What, oh what, does Fio do when she's bored because she's the only adult in the house who isn't working? Well, she composes her blog, keeps up with friends by email and FaceBook, and tries to make herself useful by playing with her granddaughter, the most darling little girl in the whole wide world. (May the good God bless and keep her.)

Your faithful correspondent just discovered that the last time she was in her house, she'd accidentally picked up a half-finished manuscript. Hmm........

And maybe once she's in the new house, she can start painting again, . Ah-haaah, her golden age is yet to come!

Orphan of the Storm

The sun is out now and the breeze is charming, as if nature is trying to make up for the blasts it unleashed on Fio's neck of the woods for a long, long week. But your girl will still have to stay in shelter for the time being because her (former) house isn't habitable anymore and her new house hasn't closed yet.

By the way, in case you're wondering, son L has donated a couple of his shirts to Fiorella's wardrobe. In her dash to grab what she could when she was last in the old house, she didn't think about clothes. Also, in case you're wondering about the stickers down Fio's left arm, they are evidence of Granddaughter's Suzy nasciant artistic talent.

Fio is grateful for being sheltered, but she's bored too. Everybody has something to do but her. Hmm....

If British friend Suzy G is reading this blog, please excuse Fiorella for not contacting you at our appointed time this month. Needless to say, Mother Nature had other plans.

Another complication--we're going to have to find a kennel for Sonia Dog that has experience with big dogs.

A Hard Goodbye

Fiorella is having a wonderful time getting to know her granddaughter, who is the most charming child on the face of the earth. B has included Grammy in all of her games, even sharing her toys with her and making sure she was covered with a sheet when THE GIANT approached.

Son is driving into town later today to pick up a heart med for yours truly so Fio is hitching a ride with him to abate her cabin fever and, if possible, score more milk and.....maybe a steak or two.

The sun is out and the snow has melted, but Fiorella's life is still in disarray. She needs to remove all her belongings from her former home, pick up her mail, and arrange for storage of the mountain of boxes in the house and garage. Let's hope the bubble wrap and shredded newspaper did its job.

Don't get her wrong--Fio will be forever grateful to son L's in-laws for taking her in, but she didn't understand that she'd have to stay in place for a month before the purchase of the new house could be settled.

So many of her lovely rock piles will be left behind, and Fiorella will miss them, as well as her comforting trees. She hopes the new owner will recognize the species as the elements they are.

Bad Times and Good

The new owners were out in the front yard when Son L drove Fiorella over to her old house today so they could check up on burst pipes and Sonia Dog. This could have been an uncomfortable situation, but the newbies were taking good care of Doggie and understood that the freak snowstorm was not Fio's fault. It  also helped that Fio and her son could answer questions about the acreage.

Neighbor Michael was also on the scene, and, may God bless him, he's going to be checking on Sonia regularly during the day while Fiorella's purchase of a new house is being finalized.

Because the storm was so bad that Fiorella couldn't stay overnight at her old home, Son drove her back to his in-laws' house where his mother-in-law kindly settled her in an upstairs bedroom. After a short nap, your girl emptied all the bags she'd filled with clothes, etc., from her old home and set up shop. Move forward, Fio. Always move forward.

Son stopped at several places on the way home to pick up food, but the only things he could get were chocolate and some bottled water. Sad.

Wahoo! Fiorella's granddaughter is interested in her. The "sit back and smile" technique is working!

Better and Better

It's still cold out and snow is still on the ground, but Fio just awoke from the best all-night sleep she's had in months. It helped that she wasn't alone, her house was sold, and she's popping with a short story.

Now to get her new life going. First, of course, she'll have to arrange for a total clear-out of her beloved old house, salvaging what she can from the devastation wrought by the exploding pipes. Then she'll have to check out the state of the new house. Then there will be the pandemonium of moving into the new house. No rest for the weary, but what else does one do but move on?

There are good people in the world. Fio will never stop lauding the charity of her daughter-in-law's family, who literally saved her life by providing food, heat, shelter, transport, and companionship. She also will be forever grateful to son L for taking over when Mom was at the end of her rope. And to neighbor Michael, for doing what he could in the circumstances.

Checking up on the outside world, Fiorella is not pleased. Ted Cruz is being a total jerk. Hey, Stacy Abrams--how about you work your magic and get him thrown out of the Senate? And there are a couple of other el stupidos you could toss out along the way.

Back in the real world, Fio still needs a Covid shot and to find out what the result of her recent blood draw was in relation to her coumadin prescription.

Reporting from the Scene

Fiorella has settled in to communal living. It's sort of like her college dorm days, but back then, we had heat and cafeteria food in abundance and didn't have to leave the toilet open and unflushed unless the user had defecated.

Even though she was swaddled in blankets, your girl couldn't sleep well last night--soooo she grabbed her always-available yellow tablet and started making notes that she could barely see in the dark, not just about her surroundings, but also about a story, maybe a murder mystery set in a house heavily inhabited during a black-out. Sound familiar?

Fio is fortunate enough to have a son who married into a generous family living in an area that still has heat and food supplies, but what about everyone else? Between the Covid and the snowstorm, there will be a lot of casualties.

Will this stalled storm ever move on? Fiorella wants to go home, clean up the house, arrange for her furniture and belongings to be crated, clear the premises, and settle down in her new house--which, dang it, will take a couple of months to be set up. Whatever, she'll be moving on.

Just learned that the upstairs pipes of the old house froze and the kitchen ceiling is toast, which means that Fio made the right move in leaving the house Also learned that Sonia Dog has enough water.

Hour by Hour

Fio is sheltering with Son L's wife's family for the duration because they have heat and food, which Fio does not.

Daughter-in-law's parents have great hearts and are fantastic organizers. As well as Fiorella, they've taken in all wife's cousin's family of four, plus dog. Still, your girl's greatest desire is to be home again in the house she's already sold and has to vacate in a about two weeks. Couldn't the snowstorm have had the courtesy to  occur at a better time? Maybe a month or so down the road, when Fio's moved out

The snow is getting to Fiorella. It was a yearly event when she lived in Ohio and an exciting--and rare-- circumstance when it occurred in Texas, but the viciousness of this snowstorm is new to her, and she doesn't like the outages that knocked her over and are going to be hanging around a while. Apparently, it's going to take a long time for Texas to pull itself together. Meanwhile, the politicians are blaming each other.

What will Fiorella do when she gets home but pack up the last evidence of her occupancy--her clothes, which have been augmented by a fair number of Husband's shirts and pullovers that proved their worth this year.

By the way, the purchase of the new house is coming along quite briskly, but moving in, of course, will be another story. Your girl has a three-car garage full of art, furniture, and collectables from her grandmothers on down.

Yes, Fiorella Is Still Alive

Hi! Remember me? Fio got shut off her computer by the New Texas Ice Age and her banishment will probably happen off and on for three more days days. Right now, just to keep herself warm, your girl is wrapped twice over--two heavy sweaters, two pairs of slacks, two pairs of socks, and two robes. And you can bet her wardrobe won't change until the weather lets up.

To make it worse, Fio and tribe are supposed to be closing on a house 'round about now.

To make it more worse, she can't go outside because the ice has turned to glass, which  means she can't pick up or deliver her mail or drive into town for extras.     Worse still, she's down to one bowl of Shredded Wheat, one slice of salmon, two cups of milk, and two slices of toast per day until this storm abates.

What about Sonia Dog, you ask? Well, she has a full bag of Benefel, a parade of MiklBone offerings, and Mommy's lap to cuddle in. She also has no problems trotting around in snow four inches deep--her heritage is showing.

The storm is supposed to give us a lull for a day, then return to igloo weather for final a couple of days more. Wish Fio well.

BRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I'd be wearing Mother's mink jacket if I were going outside today, which I'm not.

*

I've never been locked in before,

Unable to go beyond my door,

Except when I had measles bad,

And it's making me fire-breathing mad

*

When I am charmed

Or alarmed

I expresses myself in verse

If I feel bad

Or super mad

I express myself far worse

*

I'm seventy eight

So don't be late

Or I'll evaporate--

Hope I have time

To make a new rhyme

At seventy-nine

Son and Neighbor Save the Day

Let's give three cheers and three cheers more for Son Lee, who, by hand, and Neighbor Michael, who, by chain-saw and tractor, totally cleared the fallen trees out of Fiorella's driveway yesterday. 💛💛💛

Your girl is going to be running behind on Valentine's Day this year. She's written a heart-felt little poem, but doesn't have the card itself finished off. Also, she is leery of walking up the icy driveway to put the cards in her mailbox.

Sonia Dog has no problem about going out into the frozen snow to do her business and scout the surroundings. But then, she has a nice coat, padded feet, and the heritage of dogs from colder climes.

Now that the day is drawing closer that Fiorella will be moving, she is thinking about how to furnish her domain. From things she already has, of course, but which ones? And where? She wants her art to see the light of day, but there are no stairs in the new house for her paintings to march up and down so she'll have to come up with another brilliant idea.

Hmm....am guessing that since there will be a child on the scene, Fio's nudes will have to be tucked away for a while.

Now, if you'll excuse her, Fiorella is going to indulge herself in reading today's newspaper, which, because of the labor of Son and Friend, was able to be delivered right on time to her porch today.

Aaaaaand, the Clock Strikes Twelve!

One of the dumbest things Fiorella did was take down the big, happy, easy-to-look-at kitchen wall clock midway through packing because now, the only way she can tell time is by wrinkling her brow and peering at her wristwatch. The second dumbest thing your girl did was pack away her unfinished stories and copious library of books way too early because now, she has nothing to read or fool around with.

Fio is so tired of greeting the new day by assuming she will be able to do what needs to be done and maybe have some time to herself, then have everything go wrong, like (1) two front-yard trees, laden with snow and falling across the driveway. (2) Like having to spend a full half-hour winding her way through the intricacies of Capital One's back door to make a late car payment, the bill of which had never shown up in her mailbox. (3) Like the vet reporting that Doggie needs to eat more nutritious food, which means that the big bag of Benefel which Fio ordered yesterday is out the window. (4) Like that she can't find out by telephone how her last coumadin check-up came out. (5) Like that, according to the weather-casters, she will be housebound through the next week or two.

UP DATE: Your girl pulled on jeans and two sweaters, then sallied forth out the garage door to access the situation and discovered that her driveway is impassible in both directions. More fun. She'll have to make her one box of Shredded Wheat and her one loaf of bread s-t-r-e-t-c-h. On the other hand, she has two gallons of milk in the refrigerator, Sonia Dog is taking everything in stride, and, so far, her computer and the TV are still working.

The newspaper, of course, wasn't delivered, which upsets Fio's equilibrium, but she understands.

This Is the Eleventh

HOUR ONE*** It looks like Fiorella is iced in, which is a big deal in Texas, but probably par for the course for her Ohio relatives. Your girl still remembers walking up the hill from Ellet Elementary, rolling a snowball in front of her that she had to abandon half-way home because it got too big for her to manage.

Fio watched about an hour of the trial of Donald J. Trump, and it was too much for her. All she could think of was her sorrow when the electoral college gave the presidency to him instead of Hillary, whom we all thought had won because she had the popular vote. JUST THINK! ALL OF THIS--THE HATE AND GRAFT, THE INSURRECTION, THE RACISM, THE NEIGHBOR AGAINST NEIGHBOR--ALL COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED!

HOUR TWO*** OMG, OMG, OMG! It's a winter wonderland outside--wondering if any visiting Yankee has a sled or two with him. Hey, Rev. David Woodhall, if you're reading Fiorella, do you you remember when our fathers took us kids outside and we sledded down the icy hill in the dark? Fio will never forget the flash of fire her sled threw up when it hit the edge of the curb.

HOUR THREE*** Son L just called and Fiorella has to go outside and wrap the pipes which she had unwrapped for when she was showing the house. Oh well, at least she have plenty of newspapers and tape. Now, please excuse her while she turns on her inside faucets. Hmm...maybe winter weather isn't so great after all.

Oops--turns out that the beautiful snow has an underlay of ice, and your girl can't go more than two steps outside without clutching at whatever she can for balance. Oh well, if the pipes break, the pipes break.

This Is Fiorella, February NINTH

It's going to be another busy day. Fiorella spent a wonderful transatlantic hour on the phone with Friend Suzy, then searched up and down for the options check she'd made out yesterday, finally finding it where she had first looked for it--in Fio's check book.

Remember how Fiorella was so thrilled about about the traveling veterinarian she snagged, thanks to her brother's keen eye? Well, Carol-Lynne has an over-the-ocean fan too. Yes, she had tended to Friend Suzy G's parrot when Suzy was living in the US.

Your girl spent most of the afternoon checking out the new house that, in about a month, she and Sonia Dog will be moving into along with Son L and his family. Fio loved the back yard, which was appropriate for both a large dog and a growing girl, but she has mixed feelings about the house itself. Will keep you posted.

Fiorella hopes to reestablish relationships with old friends when she moves back to Austin, but she also wants to stay in touch with the friends she established in this neck of the woods which would be a lot easier if Covid weren't in full bloom. Hoping the inoculations will be available to her soon.

Congratulate Fio. She's hasn't taken a single bite of  chocolate for two whole days.

Moving Along Faster and Faster

It's all settled. Fio and family have bought a new house. Whew--this road has been painful. Son L and his wife have done most of the footwork, but Fio put in her share and provided the where-with-all. She thinks they've ended up in a good place, and if it isn't, they'll make it so. Now to finish up packing and hire a  mover.

It's so warming to have had the opportunity to become acquainted with the person who's going to be living in "the house that Fiorella built." She'd never met the buyers of her North Oaks or Quail Creek homes.

Your girl just came home from a minor shopping expedition to pick up anything-but-chocolate for herself and a nice leash for Doggie, but somehow, she got back to the house without the leash. It wasn't on her ticket either so her guess is that the checker didn't notice it on the counter, but maybe the loss for the best. Fio likes to dress Sonia in red, but the only leashes Target had available were black and green.

Fiorella has learned a lot about the British countryside by watching Britain's Somertime Murders, like that all the residents live in quaint villages that sponsor a lot of outdoor festivities, they regularly slink around in the dark of night, and everyone in town has a deep, dark secret.

Yay! Fio just heard from a Joan, a writing friend who lives in Bastrop, but will be closer now that Fiorella is moving to Austin. Woo hoo! Good times are here again!

Time Marches On and On

Fiorella's day was so full that she almost forgot to keep you posted. First there was drama--the dirty-dealing realtor who had sabotaged us last week apparently had outsmarted himself because he was back in the running again, but Son L had already located another suitable house, so what do we do? Second, there was a lovely visit with the nice woman who has bought my house and had been instructed by her insurer to take a photo of the AC. Third, Son came over and started clearing out the garage. Fourth, Fio just received a call from her realtor--everything is signed, sealed, and delivered! Wonderful....and scary.

As it turns out, your girl will be staying in this house until mid March so she's thinking of unpacking some of her boxes, like the ones she put her books in.

Sonia Dog has been started on the pill regimens that the vet prescribed for her, and so far, Doggie has gobbled them down like candy.

Son L has shown Fio pictures of the new house, and she was relieved to see that it has a nice-sized yard. Dogs and children need room to play.

Now that her own future housing has been settled, Fiorella wants to get a look at her daughter's new house.

Positive and Negative

The positive is that Fiorella, Son L, and his wife spent most of the day looking at houses, and Yours Truly thought a couple of them were good candidates. The negative is that the winner didn't pan out and, since Fiorella has to be out of her own house within a week, she may have to find alternate dwelling for a while.

The positive is that Fio has maintained her chocolate freeze unto the second day. The negative is that she hasn't found a replacement for Hershey Nuggets.

The positive is that all the precious glassware has been boxed, taped, and labeled. The negative is that there's nowhere to store it.

The positive is that Fiorella has come up with a way to transport Sonia Dog, who is too big for Fio's Mazda, to the new house whenever and wherever. The negative is that it may not work.

The positive is that Fio has friends and relatives who are pulling for her. The negative is that this moving thing may be more difficult than anyone imagined.

An Interesting Day

You will not believe this, but Fiorella just had about twenty minutes of SLEET hitting her windowpanes. She didn't know what that tinkling sound was at first, but her Ohio roots searched back down through the years and finally identified the source. WOW!

Congratulate your girl. After consulting the bathroom scales, she quit chocolate cold turkey yesterday. The cravings are working overtime, but with this kind of weather, there's no way she can drive down the road and stock up at Walgreen's.

Fiorella forgot to tell you that she made it down to Mazda the other day, not only to pick up her 2021 licenses, but also to bid one last farewell to her pals in residence, especially Richard and the Boss Man, both of whom have been very kind to her through the years, despite her total ignorance of automobile technology.

Sonia Dog went outside to check on Mommy's food delivery on the front porch, then spotted a visitor in the driveway, a beautiful German Shepherd, who was immediately informed through a barrage of loud barks that THIS IS NOT YOUR DRIVEWAY. (Poor thing. Hope he/she finds its way home.)

In the middle of stuffing glassware with newspaper and bubble wrap for transport, Fio got a call from Son L reminding her that she had to get hold of her tax returns, etc., from two years past. The second she put the phone down, it rang again--the new owner wanted to know if she could come over of Sunday and take picture of the house and lands on Sunday. AND FIORELLA WONDERS WHY SHE CAN'T GET THINGS DONE!

From One Antique to Another

Fiorella looked at herself in a magnifying mirror this morning and decided that from now on, she prefers distance viewing.

WHAT is going on with the Austin American Statesman? It's looking more and more like a tabloid, with a lot of blazing headlines and "could happens" rather than "the news, and nothing but the news."

The vet has come and the vet has gone, and your girl will be making some changes in Sonia Dog's diet, but gradually, so she doesn't catch on. To start it off, his morning, her milk bowl was filled to half its usual self, which will be reduced further, day by day. Then there's the raw hamburger that Fiorella has been embellishing Sonia's kibble with--from now on, it will have to be cooked. Also, Doggie's treats will be limited. On the other hand, Sonia Dog is in remarkably good health.

Interesting enough, Veterinarian Carol-Lynne was a Plan Two-er at University of Texas, just like Fio, although a couple of decades later. It's nice to know that there's SOMETHING that's stayed the same at Fiorella's alma mater

The rest of Fiorella's day will be devoted to padding and packing the rest of the family's antique glassware, but there may be problems if your girl runs out of cereal boxes.

Wednesday, February 3, 2021

Hour by Hour

Strangely enough, your girl likes to pay her bills by mail. She's done it that way all her life--it makes her feel in control, and she knows exactly whom she's paid and when. Also, she doesn't trust technology.

Later today, Fiorella will be off to Target to buy a couple of rolls of Scotch tape and pick up another load of packing boxes. Thank goodness she still has almost a full roll of bubble wrap because the family pretties from both sides require very tender care before Fio stuffs them into the cereal boxes she's been collecting for the last couple of months.

The vet will be coming this afternoon, thank you God. Fiorella is hoping that as well as bringing Doggie up to date on her shots, Dr. Meissner will be able to give your girl a reference to someone who can transport Sonia to her new digs when Fio et al finally find their their new home.

Whoopee! It was such a relief to have Sonia Dog checked out by a real live vet. Doggie and Fio adore Dr. Meissner and her assistant, Pearl, and they look forward to a long and lasting relationship, even though your girl forgot to ask how to find Sonia a lift to their new residence.

End of the day's statistics: Fiorella filled four Shredded Wheat boxes, two Cheerios boxes, and a medium-sized box with glassware. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

A House-hunting She will Go

Your girl lost a lot of sleep last night, then finally decided she was going to turn the house-hunting venture over to Son L and his wife. After all, they'll be living in it for a lot longer than she will.

Fiorella really hasn't been keeping up with her calendar lately and, thanks to the virus, every day is pretty much the same to her--remember that she even skipped Christmas. What Fio is getting around to is that she had no idea that it was FEBRUARY already and that her car was still wearing its paper license plates. She will try to see about that tomorrow while.

Reporting in: Son L and Fio checked out at least four houses today and, as usual, none of them were perfect.

Another report: Fiorella is bassking in glory, quite pleased because in the late afternoon, she, who "doesn't get around much anymore," was able to drive herself home safely from where she'd parked her car at Fish Daddies earlier in the day back to her own hearth, where her devoted doggie awaited her.

Tomorrow, Fio will work on wrapping all her inherited wine glasses, etc., in everything from towels to newspapers to wash cloths for their trip Fiorella's new home💛

Fio on the Move Again

Fiorella has a band on her left wrist from when she got her blood drawn today to check on her coumadin level, and the waiting was long and even more boring than ever because of the distancing. Fio being Fio, she walked around the waiting room, talked to the presiding nurse when she was available and to herself when the nurse was not around. In fact, she was downright obnoxious, i.e., her normal self. 😄

Oops, Fio didn't know she should have traded the paper license plates on her car for the real things when the year turned over. Now to figure out where the plates are. She might have tossed them into the trunk of her car, but unfortunately, she doesn't know how to open it. Then again, the plates might have been delivered to her mail box and maybe she tossed them aside, meaning to deal with them later.

People are very nice to little old ladies. Fiorella should have gotten into this racket a lot earlier. 😄

Things to do when your girl moves out: Give post office my new address, notify the septic and trash pick-up services, the electric and house alarm companies, halt the newspaper, notify local doctors, and get the information on her driver's license changed. Anything else?

Remember, Fiorella, there are other people in the world besides you who drive a red-hot car, so make sure the vehicle is a Mazda before you try to open the door.😁
