FIORELLA IS GETTING WHINY AND DULL. WILL HAVE TO THROW IN SOME PASSAGES FROM ONE OF HER STEAMY ROMANCES TOMORROW

AAAAAAK! Fio almost forgot to fill you in on her crazy world because she's been working so hard today on what will become her holiday tribute, which is based on a sketch from times past that had to be altered again and again.  But this year, like a miracle, she realized her gem would be perfect for Christmas--which isn't as far away as you think..... at least in Fiorella's  world. Got all that?

Talking about painting, does anyone but your girl still play around with oils or acrylics?

Hmm...Fio is establishing herself in the art world fairly well--at least to herself--so maybe it's time to tippy-toe into another one of her stuck-in-the-basket talents: music. She needs to play the piano every day and keep pushing to be able to ride to her church.

Sorry that your girl's life is so mundane, but she's doing her best to liven it up--with Deutsch, if nothing else. That's the way the old ball bounces.....

RECOVERING, ART, AKRON, CUL-DE-SAC, SELF SUFFICIENCY, GERMAN

Fiorella has worked, worked, worked most of the day on her big family portrait, and it may be that she'll work even more this evening--or even into the night. She's proud of her work, which encourages her to go to an art store and pick up more virgin canvases. And to think: all this started with a submission to the Akron Beacon Journal's Children's Corner so many years ago. (Wonder if it still exists?)

At last, the hot summer has begun to break and your girl can take a walk down the cul-de-sac to mail some letters and she didn't even sweat 😊

Fio still haven't found any TV movies or shows to lull herself asleep at bedtime. Would like to know who/what you use.....

In case you haven't figured it out, Fio's art is her first step to regaining her self sufficiency. What will come next? Probably more writing--if she can come up with a good theme. (And along the way, she wants to start singing again, and maybe take a course in music theory so she can plunge into composing again.

German:

Here's a good one: Wie ist Ihr Name?

                              What is your name?

The "a" is pronounced like the "o" of "odd" and the "e" is sounded (like  like the "a" of "lot."

THe W of Wie is pronounced like a "V"

ELEMENTARY, WATSON und GOLDIE HAWN und HORRIBLE, HORRBLE HEAT(Hitze!)!!!

WHEW! Fiorella has just gotten in from a presentation by the elementary school of her Granddaughter's class, and you can bet that the show was chocked full....and that Son L and Daughter-in-law were all over the place. This is the second one that Fio has attended, but Son L and Wife have been quite involved down the line so you can bet your booties that if they want to, they could run as a husband-wife PTA president. Ah, your girl remembers the days........GAVEL, PLEASE!!

Will admit that your girl is not as agile as she used to be, that she stayed glued to a chair at the school and watched the goings on most of the times--but let's see what happens when Fio gets her steam up.

Fiorella's remote is failing her! Ever since your girl discovered Goldie Hawn's comedy "Overboard," she's been using the hilarity of it all to lull herself to sleep at night---and sometimes several times at a stretch--but now she can't find the movie in the listings. DANG! This has also happened to a couple of other movies she was using as her lullaby! Hmmmm....

When, oh when, will the heat let up? Fio has lived in Texas since she was six years old and never before  have we had such horrible heat. Is it some kind of punishment for air conditioning? 😕

German: die Mutter und der Vater und das Kind

LATE NIGHT MAUNDERINGS

To wash her dirty clothes tonight or not to wash her clothes dirty clothes tonight....Fio will probably end up doing the latter. After all, because she's inside most of the time, her clothes never really get more than a wrinkle. (Besides, Daughter-in-laws has already staked out the washer.)

Will Fio get a ride to church on Sunday or not? As you will remember, her Pastor located a woman who expressed interest in your girl "Gettin' to the church in time," as the song goes, but we'll see, we'll see....

The church itself has probably changed a lot since Fio last saw it, and the congregation will look different too, but Pastor has assured your girl that there are still people in attendance who will recognize her. It will feel odd though, that she will be entering the church without Husband beside her.

Changing the subject, Fiorella is half finished with the giant family painting that she's working on. Mom and Dad are pretty well finished-- Son L is almost done and Son K is coming along, but Daughter will take a while. Give Fio a month or two....or six.

GERMAN: schlecht. "inferior, bad"   Pronunciation: shlect

and remember that gut is "good" and the "u" is pronounced like "oow"

Sunday, August 27, 2023

Hey, hey, ho, ho! Fiorella's pastor payed her a visit today so he could give her the good news personally--that he's found someone in the congregation who is willing to drive your girl to church! Whoopee! Now to figure out what to wear, which might be difficult because after four years of living mostly behind closed doors, she doesn't have much of a wardrobe. Fear of Covid and lack of transportation takes the blame.

Never the less, Fio is rarin' to go, although she knows there will be some sad moments when she looks around and doesn't see her all her cohorts of yore. Luckily, the same pastor is still in the pulpit and the hymns never change.....and if they don't, your girl can test her fading sight-reading skills.

Something's wrong with Capital One. Fiorella keeps sending them money and all they do is ask for more....

If you're wondering about the super-large painting that Fio is laboring over, be assured that it moving on well (at last) and she has finally coming through with a good picture of her elder son--when he was about twelve.  Next in line will be baby girl.

German: Arbiet......the work

Getting Back to Normal with Fiorella (Such As It Is)

Thanks for giving your girl the day off. She was really tired--because of her 4x5 family painting, her worry about getting an ancient check to the bank safely, her concern about her taxes, and her worry about whether or not she had given the correct material to Lisa, who takes care of Fiorella's taxes. Yes, yesterday was NOT a happy day, but today has been better. Fio's moving along on the painting (translation: Son K now has a fairly decent head and your girl has only once overturned the cup which she is using to dip her brush in.

But despite all her adventures, Fio is still board. The weather is so hot that she can't even go outside to walk our neighborhood cul-de-sac. Hmmm...maybe the weather is the forebear of bad tidings. Your girl has read that the whole planet is heating up, and she can't help but think of what happened to Hawaii....

Isn't there another world beyond ours--one on which we or other beings like us could survive?  Surely, there is another Earth somewhere in the universe. Otherwise, why would there be anything at all?

Back to your girl's gigantic painting--she's got to figure out how she'll hanging her masterpiece when she finally finishes it. Hmmm.. Fio's eyeing a nice hall wall, but she has a feeling that someone else will grab it first.

German:  The Earth

Die Erde  Just likes it looks, and the final "e" should get a quick sound.

WHAT CAN FIORELLA SAY?

Fiorella has been working on her eldest son's head all afternoon, and now she's taking a break--although Son K's eyes still need a good going over.  Ha-ha....did you stop in your tracks for a moment before you remembered that Fio is a painter and her current task is finishing off a four-foot by five-foot family portrait? The portrait itself of her older son is almost done, but.........hitching pictures of the three kids and two parents together is going to be another job. Fio even may have to introduce a new character (a dog?)

Your girl has been watching a really great movie called OVERBOARD starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell for almost every day and night, but now she's tired of it. Any suggestions? Fio likes comedy and romance.

Did Fiorella tell you that she's lost about seven pounds? It's not just "nice," it's a MIRACLE--Hollywood, hear she comes... clear out, Goldie!

*******************************

So sorry to have left the scene the crime. Yes, Son L and your girl crossed swords, which happens every now and then when one lives in the same house, but we both served. Fio went back to her painting and Son L went back to her family.

German: die Familie, die Freund......remember them?

               plural, they are Freundin

QUESTIONS, PINK STRAW HAT, DOG, DISCOURAGE MENT, WISHES SO MUCH FOR A FRIEND.....

Fio didn't get any sleep last night because she was worrying about everything--like how she's going get out to get to her bank so she can deliver a nice check that came her way. Like whether or not she took the right amount of her most important pills.  Like weather her perpetual cold will ever be cured!

Meanwhile, the youngest little pug (male, of course) is yapping so intensely that Son L has driven it down the road to the kennel, which is forty-five miles away.

Then there's your girl's family painting, which it seems she'll never complete. And her pink straw hat, which has suddenly disappeared. But what's the use for it anyway because IT'S HOT OUTSIDE AND EVERYTHING IS BORING, BORING, BORING!

Your girl hasn't even put on her red apron, picked up her paints, and tried to work on her current art project for fear that she'd end up throwing everything out the window.

Sorry Fiorella is so negative today, but maybe you'll like the German class better:

 alles ----means "everything"

 nichts ----means "nothing"

                 the "ch" is almost silent

ONE OF THOSE DAYS grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

It's been one of those days and Fiorella is exhausted although she can't remember anything she did but paint, write out the bills, and try to figure out what the landlord management is hanging on us now. GRRRR!

Well, there was one thing that was positive in your girl's day: her painting is finally moving along and she's quite proud of it. The great thing about Acrylic is that you can always slap another layer onto it. Hmm...wonder what Fio should paint after this monstrosity. (Has she told you that the picture is of her late husband, yours truly, and our three children?)

Changing the subject, George the Cat has been especially loving recently. Is there something Fiorella doesn't know about under the junk in her Study/Studio/Salon? Something that would be a real treat to a cat--aside from her paints that is?

Little did Fio's grandfather, Bill Button, know what that adaptive easel he built for her when she was four years have on her future....on her whole life. And she hopes there are still more to come.😁

German: Has Fiorella told you that a piano is a Klavier and a pianist is a Klavenspieler?

FIORELLA WANTS MORE ACTION!

Fiorella is going to take some time off today. There's not much to say anyway. She's replayed "Overboard"  at leat ten times and hasn't been able to find any new shows that she like. WHOEVER THOUGHT THAT FIO WOULD WIND UP SPENDING MOST OF HER TIME WATCHING OLD MOVIES?

Thank you to Brother who is kind enough to call his Fio once a week to remind her of the old times when she had a lot of friends and was involved in all sorts of activities. Your girl is aiming for that situation again, but she has to get herself some wheels first. Any takers?

Been thinking about the horrible heat in Texas and the way the whole world is heating up. Are humans the main reason for it? Do we have to stop having babies for a decade or so? What about the animals--would they have to be thinned out too?

Whatever, Fio is doing her part: SHE'S LOST FIVE POUNDS!

German: You're ginna love this word; schwimmen, which means "swim"

                                                              the sch is pronounced "shw"

The Paint Job, the Weather, the Taxes, My JoJo,

Fio is up-and-at'm with her current paint job--the four-foot-by-five foot Acrillic of her family when we/they were all MUCH younger, but your girl is using the same old paints so far and is proud (and surprised) to say that she's still got her talent. Now, if she can just round up some clients....BUT AFTER HER SELF-ASSIGNMENT IS COMPLETED, PLEASE.

Has Fio told you that it's so hot down here in Texas that she has two units running in her bedroom, an overhead and a floor fan?

Son L has just reminded Fio that it's time for her to work out her Taxes again--your girl's most un-cheery time of the year. Excuse me, but did Fio same say "day?" Fiorella has a very good accountant, but it always takes a tun of time....mostly because your girl has a tendency to throw away what the thinks she'll never need again...but she does.

Has yours truly ever introduced you to her husband, Jo Jo, the big, stuffed panda she bought at Walmart after Christmastime last year? He doesn't have much to say, but we sleep together every night and he always has a smile on his face....

GERMAN: der Sohn is what we have been suffering from lately and you can call it pritty much like in English

What we would like to see is der Regen, of course (Rain)

THANKS FOR STAYING AROUND WITH FIORELLA---SHE GETS LONELY (einsam) SOMETIMES

Hello, hello, hello! Congratulate Fiorella--she has gone over the hump regarding that monstrous painting she's working on and is now sliding down the other side. Well, almost--there's still the problem with one of her major characters looking like he's stepping on another one, but your girl has a few ideas swirling around in her brain to take care of that situation. (She will, of course, keep you posted, whether you want to be or not.)

Fio has always drawn or painted or whatever, and, thanks goodness, she grew up in schools had teachers that encouraged her talent, even in college, although it wasn't your girl's major. And yes, it's inherited.... one of her sons even earned degree in art (but couldn't find a job with it.)

Ahhh....what would Fiorella like to be doing now? Well, continuing with her different arts, of course, but she'd also like to work with some of the languages she has semi-forgotten, get started writing another book or the like, be involved in her church and its music program. It all sounds do-able to your girl if she just had a driver......

Also, Fio wants a dog, a big one like her Mastiff, whom she still mourns. 😢

GERMAN: Remember der Hund?  That's for a male dog.

                                                          The female is der Hunde

ART, ART, ART, FOOD, FOOD, FOOD, FINANCES, FINANCES, FINANCES, DEUTSCH, DEUTSCH, DEUTSCH (SORTA)

Fio is still laboring over attaching all the family to the horrendous 4x5 board, a labor that has been using up so much of her time, as you well know. She and her husband were attached many years ago, and now that your Fiorella has finally finished up on Son L, she's aiming her brushes at Son K in absentia, which explains why she has some old photos and lots of brushes and rags situated around her.

Painting is interesting in itself, but right now, Fio is taking advantage of the fact that anything can be painted over and over again to better the image being sought --like when Fiorella painted Son K's face in red paint, then moved the color down to make him more like he looked when he was younger.

Actually, your girl's day was a little scary because had received something yesterday saying there was a problem with my finances. Fio panicked, of course, then panicked, then decided to be cool.  You'll hear Fio from here to Barnio if she has to go through this again!

"How did your art start?" people sometimes ask your girl. Fio would like to give them an easy answer, but there isn't. Your girl was born in the war years, when even pencils were in short demand, although her mother, a former high school teacher, was rather clever about making things out of nothing. And then there was her wonderful kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Rubright, who was even more clever. But maybe the most important was the encouragement she got......

German: Here is a German word that everyone of a certain age will remember

WUNDERBAR, which means just how you think it does--wonderful!

But you pronounce the W like a V and the U almost like "oo of "loon"

BACK AND FORTH, BACK AND FORTH...

It is soooooo hot outside that Fiorella thought she would faint when she was dragging her way home from her trip to the mailbox up the street.

Apparently Fio has messed up her bank account again. It's not that she doesn't have enough money to pay the bills (thank you, God!), but that somehow she gets tangled up in the processes, which frightens her.

Son L drove your girl to one of her many doctors this morning and, as Fio waited....and waited....waited.... her turn, she played peek-a-boo with a little girl across the way whose father (?) was ignoring her.  It made it make us both happy. 💗

This has not been a good day for your girl. Although her new-fangled thermometer assured her that she didn't have Covid or any other plague, her stomach disagreed. Oh, well....tomorrow is another day.

GERMAN: Ah well, tomorrow is another day

Ah, gut, Morgen ist ein neuer Tag

The "u"in" in 'gut" is pronounced like "oooo" like a hoot.

"ein" rhymes with "mine," but cut out the "m"

"neuer" is pronounced like "noyer" in English

In Tag, the "T" and "g" are forceful

THINGS ARE LOOKING UP, UP, UP!

Fiorella is more and more turning in to her writing again. She has a couple more romances in the closet that she could finish off and, as she has often said, she would also like to gather her short stories together for publishing. And then there are her poems.....

Son L wants your girl to be checked out for diabetes because--yes, Fio admits it--she gobbles up too much chocolate. Fio is willing to play along and will keep you posted, but is guessing that the amount of milk she drinks every day drowns out the xxxxxxx.

Fio is still having a hard time with the 4x5 family painting that she has slavishly devoted herself to, but she refuses to toss it. If she's going to get into the game again, she has to believe in herself and her talent.

Think about its. Your girl is painting again and thinking about writing, her two of her four major talents. Wonder when music--which she's fooled around with a little from time to time--will come back into the scene in a major way......

And then there's her former fourth talent: languages:

GERMAN: Ich bin glucklich, (I am happy)

                    pronounce "glu"  like "glue"

Trying to Climb Back Up

Sorry to leave you hanging. Actually, just one day was missed, but your girl forgot to post the other one😕. What made Fio forget? Probably the painting in her studio that she is half killing itself on. The project is hard in the first place, but Fiorella adding another person's portrait into it to didn't help. PRAY FOR HER!

It sounds like Gethsemane Lutheran has found someone who will drive your girl to church and back, but if that doesn't work, Fio will try a taxi. After all, her mother, who had the same eye problem Fiorella does, used a taxi.

As you have probably noticed, Fiorella "doesn't get around much anymore," which means she is board for  herself and boaring for you, but please stay around because one of these days, your girl will jump the fence. Maybe with art, maybe as a writer, maybe with politics. (Remember how much fun it was to make "Dump Trump" badges?)

Really glad that Son L's Covid has run its course. It was just a mild case, but enough is enough.

GERMAN:

Family: Familie  (Remember "a" is spoken with the sound of the "o" in "cot")

Have I told you that Essen means "food," and that's all you need to know?

YAY, YOUR GIRL IS PICKING UP SPEED AGAIN!

Hello, friends! Hope all is well with you. Fio is sort of shivering now because someone tried to pull a fast one with her regarding her charge card, and she almost fell for it. If it hadn't been for Son L, she would have really been in trouble!

As it is, your girl is somewhat melancholy because she's so lonely----here's a limit to how much chocolate one can guzzle down in a day without throwing it all up tomorrow.

Also, please remind Fiorella to pick up three photos from a long time back at Walmart tomorrow. Fiorella wants to send copies of them to Son K.

Fio has pretty much seen herself as a dog girl, but Son L's cat--the beautiful male Persian--has latched onto Fio for some reason. Maybe because of your girl's consummate beauty.......😊

GERMAN: Church, as you remember.....

Der liebe Gott   (the good God)

Kirche (church), which you surely remember

OOPS! Looks like your girl didn't post yeserday's blog!

Your Fiorella has got to start putting her writings in order because right now, she doesn't know     which of her short-short stories she's used in print or not----which is her excuse for posting this nasty little jewel:

                                                                          Diet

Once upon a time there was a slender young woman, a good woman, who was married to the man of her dreams, while her best friend was fat and unmarried.

"If you lost some weight, your true nature would be revealed and you would be able to attract a man as wonderful as mine," the slender young woman told her friend. "I will help you."

So, with the encouragement of her slender young friend, the fat woman dieted away one hundred pounds to become a devastating beauty. In fact, she was so devastating that she was able to seduce her friend's husband to leave his wife for her.

"How can you do this to me?" the slender young woman complained to her formerly fat friend. "I have always been a good friend to you, and I was the one who helped you diet to reveal your true nature."

"Unfortunately," the formerly fat woman replied with a smile, "My true nature is evil."

SHORT AND SCARY

Oops: just learned that Son L has a mild case of Covid and will not be able to drive Fio around anywhere. Also wondering if your girl will catch it. Also wondering about grocery deliveries. Another thing for certain: Granddaughter will not make it to the school on time.

Actually, Fio is quite frightened and may skip a post or two.  Pray for her--she didn't get Covid the first time around, but this time, it's in the household.

Also pray for Hawaii, its inhabitants and visitors, and if you don't hear from Fiorella for a while,  pray for her too.

Your German class is suspended for today, but remember that "sick"

is  KRANK with the "A" reading like "LA" without the L.

BLESSINGS TO ALL AND TAKE CARE!

CARRY ON....

Hey, hey, hey, it looks like Fiorella will finally be able to attend her church this coming Sunday thanks to the City and her own old age. OOOOPS! Is this that same group that your girl refused to use last year because they looked so oily? Oh well, time will tell, but if you see Fio trying to disengaging herself from an oily looking bus, please stop and give her a ride on your nice, clean cushions

Actually, your girl does feel a little odd because she's been working so hard on her current art project, the 4X5 of her family, so hard that she was a bit dazed when she called it quits for the day. If only her painting would go faster.....but then, what would she have to complain about?

()Where is Evelyn Palfry and how can I meet up with you?)

I wrote this little gem a while back:

Paradise

Heaven was, well, heavenly. Every day was just as  wonderful as the day before. The sun was always a blushing gold, and the sunset a drama of orange and black. The grass was always green and smelled of eternal spring. George golfed with his spirit guide every day and always won. His wife never whined and his children were always polite, obedient, and happy.

In fact, after a while, perfection got somewhat boring.

"I really didn't realize heaven would be so boring," George said to his spirit guide.

The being looked at him in surprise. "What made you think this is heaven?"

GERMAN: Onkel (uncle)....the O needs to sound like "own"

Tante (Aunt.......takes off the first T and last e,

but I seem to remember that the "a" is pronounced like "ATH" in bath.

OOPS, FORGOT TO POST YESTERDAY AND AM BOWING MY HEAD IN SHAME

Yes, Fiorella has been working overtime on her paintings, or at least on one BIG painting that she hid away many moons ago, then forgot about. Or maybe she just hid the cumbersome thing in the garage because it was such a monumental undertaking. Whatever, since the painting has come to your girl's notice again, she hopes to make something out of it.

"What is this heavy picture of that you're teasing us about?" you ask.

It's a 5x4 feet by 5X4 , and is only a quarter finished, which means there are three more paintings to go-- all of them in your girl's of my close family. Fio has finished off the pictures of Husband and herself, but the kids' pictures may be hard to get, especially since one of them lives out-of-state.

At this point, the giant Persian cat leaps up on the bed to help to Fiorella by licking her hands and face and offering his condolences. OMG, if your girl could just leap around from chair to chair like he does!

GERMAN: How about starting out with the numbers? Ready?

1 eins......(ein) sounds like "fine" without the "f; the "s" is pronounced  like a "z."

2 zwei---(zw) is pronounced with a heavy "z" and the ei  is pronounced like "why"

3 drei----(drei) is pronounced like "dry," but it's nice if you can get a roll in

4 vier----(vier) is pronounced like "f."😔

TELLING, BUT NOT MY BEST WORK

Your girl is still working on that giant art project that she started years ago and now is trying to finish, but, to tell the truth it, it will probably never be completed. The main characters in it are Fio's family- Son K, Son L, and Daughter, all of whom have changed a lot in forty years. But still Fiorella paints on because what else does she have to do?

Hurrah! Fio got to wear her new shoes all day! Did she tell you that they're BLUE? Not exactly like the ones in the long-ago song, but enough to make your girl happy. (The old ones, which were genuine, had worn through the soles.)

As she sits here writing, your girl hears the sounds of her granddaughter playing with her designated friend for the day, which makes her remember herself playing with Diane H. and Barbara T. when she lived on Stetler Street, and later, in Texas, with Ellen P. and Elaine H. But those days are past and your girl is sad.

For Heaven's sake, aren't there any good art groups in Austin? Years ago, when Fio left, it was awash with them, and now that Covid it over, couldn't they start up again?  (And maybe have curb side service to boot?)

GERMAN: Today's word is easy but tricky: Bank  (which is not what you think)

Which means "bench" in German (and is pronounced like baaaaaank)

BITS AND PIECES AGAIN

Fio's cute little bedside alarm clock--the one that doesn't utter any alarms--has now added not giving the right time to its repertoire.  GRRRRRR!

Good news: it finally dawned on your girl that she could use the painting she'd made of Son L as a child to be the model of him in the painting she's working on now! Then there are the other two kids whom she'll also have to have to repaint one way or another.....

Somehow today was a mix-up and Fio's faithful driver never appeared, but there's always tomorrow, hopefully. And speaking of tomorrow, your girl will be out on the town with Daughter in the afternoon. Yippie!

Fio is getting tired of the same run of shows on television. Isn't it time to change them around? Or maybe somehow Fio will by some miracle make some friends. on site.....

German:     Just in case you need it, the word for "hospital" is Krankenhaus

And remember that the word for "sick" is krank

Also remember that "a" is pronounced like "ah"

SWEETNESS AND HORROR, FIO WRITES THEM ALL

PLEASURE

Some people are silver and some are gold

Some people are young and some are old

Some people are shy and some are bold

Some people are warm and some are cold

But all can be worthy, so I've been told....

                                             JBB, of course!!

HORROR

As best the explorer could figure, he'd been lost for about a week.

His supplies had run out yesterday, but this morning, the explorer had found the remains of a path and, peering through the sandalwood and banyan intertwined with the snake-like lianas, he'd seen a lone round-top hut topped with a thatched roof.

Stepping into the clearing, he called out a greeting loud clear to indicate his friendly intent....but no one answered. The jungle was still as death except for a faint whimper and a shuffling sound coming from inside the hut, like someone just waking.

        A child?

The explorer approached the hut cautiously and pushed the woven door aside, but the hut was empty except for a gleaming white heap in the far corner.

The explorer moved closer to the pile, then jerked back.

Bones! Bones that, even as he watched, began to reassemble themselves...

His heart pounding like a jumble drum, the explorer backed up and turned to escape, but before he could even reach the door, the explorer was dead and the bones were alive....

NOT THE BEST OF SHOWS, BUT THE GERMAN IS E-A-S Y!

From Some Oldies but Goodies from Years ago 😀

Fiorella never believes a teacher's concern for her child is real until she gives your girl her home phone number.

Despite the best of intentions, your girl admits she has not been a perfect mother. But then, her kids also had their lapses......

=========

Fio spent a whole morning today getting two moles on her cheek liquidated, and then, when she got back to the house, she glued herself to the television to keep up with the Trump scandal. Ah, if only there had been more votes for Hillary when she was running for president--although even then, Fiorella thought that Trump had pulled some shenanigan.

Dang it! Fio is running out of her favorite art colors--paint, yellow, black, white, and black--and she doesn't even know where the nearest place to buy them is!

Sorry to be so dull today, but let's move on to GERMAN, AND IT'S EASY!

   Gewinner: feminine

   Gewinnerin: male

EVERYTHING IS MESSING UP, BUT FIO WILL CONTINUE ON!

😊 Calm down, Fiorella! The whole world is not attacking you, even if your blog wasn't posted when you thought it would be, and that painting you're working on will eventually be finished, even though you're sobbing about it now.......

Okay, your girl admits it: this evening, she lost control of her paint brush and slapped bright red across the childhood face of Son on which she was trying to fix a minor problem. Hopefully, Fio can redo her blunder before Son stops by to look at his mother's progress, or, if Fiorella is REALLY lucky, Son will have a babyhood hood picture of himself that he'll let her borrow for the time being.

Fio tried to use her new Jitterbug today, but it moved too fast for her to follow the instructions. Maybe tomorrow.....or the next day.....

Son dropped our girl at the doctor's office today to make her even more beautiful than before, but (darn it!) the doctor couldn't reduce either her weight or her age! Never the less, Fiorella had a great time entertaining the other patients in his waiting room before she met her doctor and later, when she was waiting for Son to pick her up and started talking to a nice lady who didn't speak English.....why should Fio let that stop your girl?

German for Doctor: Arzt

YEAH! Fio has found her missing German book! It was lodged between the mattress and the bedstead!

From Trump to art to Children Doctor's Office

Your girl started to compose a nasty eulogy aimed at Trump, but then realized she couldn't think of anything new to say because now the WHOLE WORLD knows what a despicable person he is! If only Hillary had been elected--although your girl guesses that if Trump had played fair, she would have!

Fiorella spent most of the afternoon listening to the television as she worked on a four-by-five painting of her family. She's finished off half of it (husband and yours truly) and is now working with the children, which is difficult. Son L as a three- year-old has been easy to work with and will probably finish up tomorrow, but Daughter and Son K are another story.

Said Daughter, her youngest, had red-gold hair when she was born, which is hard to paint, and elder Son forgot to leave Mom a good twelve-year-old photo when he grew up and left the nest. Ah, well, all Fio can do is stare at her canvas...and stare, stare, stare...hoping for inspiration .

Tomorrow, Fiorella will be going to a dermatologist's doctor's office to make herself even more beautiful. Cross your fingers that all will be well!

 GERMAN: Ich can nicht

I can not     The ICH and the NICHT rhyme and the "ich" is a strong "I"  sound

ACK! FIO DIDN'T PUBLISH LAST NIGHT!
