TELLING, BUT NOT MY BEST WORK

Your girl is still working on that giant art project that she started years ago and now is trying to finish, but, to tell the truth it, it will probably never be completed. The main characters in it are Fio's family- Son K, Son L, and Daughter, all of whom have changed a lot in forty years. But still Fiorella paints on because what else does she have to do?

Hurrah! Fio got to wear her new shoes all day! Did she tell you that they're BLUE? Not exactly like the ones in the long-ago song, but enough to make your girl happy. (The old ones, which were genuine, had worn through the soles.)

As she sits here writing, your girl hears the sounds of her granddaughter playing with her designated friend for the day, which makes her remember herself playing with Diane H. and Barbara T. when she lived on Stetler Street, and later, in Texas, with Ellen P. and Elaine H. But those days are past and your girl is sad.

For Heaven's sake, aren't there any good art groups in Austin? Years ago, when Fio left, it was awash with them, and now that Covid it over, couldn't they start up again?  (And maybe have curb side service to boot?)

GERMAN: Today's word is easy but tricky: Bank  (which is not what you think)

Which means "bench" in German (and is pronounced like baaaaaank)
