Well, at least some people in the family are getting to go caroling--Daughter-in-law's family--but, according to Son L, there isn't room for Fiorella, which saddens her and gives her an idea at the same time: if no one has room for her (at the inn?) this evening, maybe she'll bundle up, go out into the front yard, and sing solo! Heck--she might even gather a few more lonely carolers!
But in the meantime, your girl will spend her time this afternoon on a revision of the Christmas card she sent out in 2077. It was the first of her musical series, and these were/are the words: FIRST VERSE: Today I sing a happy song/Today I sing a song of joy/Praise to God/God is good/God has given me a baby boy. SECOND VERSE: Today we sing a song of peace/ Today I sing a song of love/ Praise to God/ God is good/God be praised in heav'n above. (Um....it sounds better with music.)
Ah, memories of times past. Your girl can't help but smile at the memory of the couple of years that her kids' schools sponsored after-school class programs for the students, their parents, and the whole neighborhood. Fiorella, of course, volunteered for both the adult and children's music classes, and not only had a ball, but made some life-long friends. (Hi, there, Marian!)
So why is it that there is no room in the inn when it comes to Fiorella caroling now?
