Tirade

And again Fio's going to cut loose on the Duggars and other TV actors who pretend to be Christians. The hypocritical women who talk about modesty, then wear maternity tops so tight that their belly buttons show, who talk about not "defruading" men by looking sexy, then glamorize themselves with seductive hairstyles and come-hither smiles, who see no other role for themselves and their daughters than adoring their husbands, no matter what rats they are, and being available sexually. The males who talk Jesus, but do not love His flock, who do not provide their children with good educations, who do not feed the poor or aid the stranger. Who are intolerant of others and have rewritten the Bible in their own images.

Self-delusion, deliberate deception, or the devil's work?

Memo to Google News

Dear Google News: Fio wants to make it clear that she has no interest in Jennifer Aniston's uterus or whatever is going on with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie or anything having to do with the Kardashians or the latest scheme the Duggars have cooked up to sustain their faltering brand. Nor is Fiorella interested in political speculation--once burned, twice shy. What she wants to read is news, real news, not fake news, what is actually happening in this country and around the world, with a few uplifting side stories thrown in.

Oz, Trump, Dwarfs and Duggars

Dr. Oz says that using olive oil lowers chances of a premature death. Does that mean Fio's fingernails, which she daily dips in olive oil, will live longer?
*
Fio thinks Trump's ideal world is one in which the men make loads of money and the women pose for nude photos. Notice that he hasn't blown up about those pictures of his wife.  Fio suspects he may have released them himself to show her off--sort of a yada-yada-ya-ya, look what I have and you don't. Perhaps he thought they'd bring in more votes.
*
Fio used to watch The Little People until the Matt went meglomaniacal and all the right wing crazy stuff came out. She watches The Little Couple now, and hopes Bill Klein and Jen Arnold aren't as fake as the Roloffs turned out to be.  And then there are the Duggars, but that's a bigger story--pun intended.

TV People

Maybe Trump's opponents should plant someone in the audience to yell "Donald is a poopy pants," then encourage the crowd to echo it.
*
Again, Fio asks--has any Kardashian ever held a real job?
*
Speaking of TV, "Lucifer" would have a great time with the Duggars--but maybe he already has.

Donald, Duggars, and Duty

Hmm . . . so The Donald doesn't like Hillary, Megyn, or Fiorina.  Is there anything--ANYTHING--those three have in common other than being females involved with politics?
*
Sorry to keep flogging a dead horse, but Fiorella has a ghoulish interest in the Duggars and whatever their next train wreck is.  After all, they have eighteen to go.
*
Hey, would Fiorella get paid $80,000/year in Kentucky if she too refused to follow the rules?

Duggarville

How you gonna keep them down on the farm once that they've seen Paree?  How you gonna keep them in the Duggar mind-lock once that they're out from under Jim Bob's control?

Yep, Josh Duggar's done it again, but this time it was consensual and arranged via a website that's been hacked.  But what can you expect of a young man set loose in a tempting new world that, thanks to his parents' sequestration of the family from everything real, he is not equipped to deal with?  A family whose religious views are based on sexuality?

The sad thing is that Anna will bear the blunt of the shame and guilt, for "not satisfying" her husband.  The sad thing is that  the gravy train has been retired to a side rail, and the younger Duggars will be back to Goodwill clothes in no time. The sad thing is that, with nineteen kids who grew up as TV stars, Fio would guess there's a lot more crap to come.

Shallow Mind

Fiorella doesn't care if Bruce Jenner gets himself emasculated.  She doesn't care if Rachel Dolezal has been passing for black.  She doesn't care if The Donald announces runs for president--although she does find that one hilarious.

What she's following are the spectacles: Mama BooBoo making an ass out of herself, and Michele and Jim Bob trying to crawl out of the giant hole they dug themselves into.

Oh, she also follows science news--if it's brief.

Duggars and Kardashians

When you come right down to it, there isn't that much difference between the Duggars and the Kardashians.  Both families are large, loyal, unemployed, woefully under-educated, governed by a control freak, and have money coming out their ears.

And both families are sexually oriented, The women are skilled with make-up, wear cute clothes, sport the latest hair styles, and aren't averse to a few nips and tucks, but the Duggars groom their girls to be as sexually submissive as FLDS Mormons, while the Kardashians groom their girls to be as lecherous as Saturday night--uh--girlfriends.

The big difference between the two families is that the Duggars try to smooth over any cracks in their facade, while the Kardashians base episodes around them.

Whatever.  The Kardashians are boring, and the Duggars give Fio sugar diabetes.

Reality Shows Exposed

The problem with reality shows is that, at a certain point, the facade gets ripped off and we notice things like Matt Roloff's megalomania, Mama June's careless parenting, the Duck Dynasty patriarch's prejudices, Kate Gosselin's virulent OCD, and the Duggars' misperception of godliness.

But the people portrayed on the screen were concocted out of scraps of footage by directors, cameramen, and publicity flacks.  They were never real.

Reality shows are fiction

Multitudes and Multiples

Nineteen kids.  You can bet at least one will turn out gay, one will write a tell-all book, and one will break with family tradition and go to college--a real college, not just a bible institute.  Oh, and another one will go bat-crap crazy, leave the clan, and get his/her own TV reality show, Breaking Duggar, so to speak.

And Lord only knows what will happen to the Gosselins.

TV Tidings

When Fiorella turned on TV last night, she switched quickly through the talking heads discussing chemical warfare in Syria and past Piers Morgan dissing Congress for backing away from banning assault guns and went straight to Scott McGillivray's Income Property, one of her favorites.  It's not that she doesn't care about chemical warfare or gun control--it's that she can't do a thing about either of them and wants to be in a pleasant frame of mind before she shuts her eyes at night.

Which is also the reason that she won't be watching the Duggars flaunting their nineteen children in one-child China.

Stars

Have you noticed how reality stars are taking over the covers of People and other celebrity-oriented magazines? Even the Duggars have made it.

What's going on? Have we become bored with the standard celebs and their antics? It's no surprise anymore when a sex tape featuring Paris surfaces, Britny bares her shaven crotch, or Charlie roughs up his wife. Even the politicos are predictable--the ones who are playing around on their wives with other women, the anti-gay ones who spice up their lives with homosexual hook-ups, the ones who have taken bribes. And the athletes . . . .

So now the Duggars are on the cover of People with a teaser about them planning to have more children even though their last one was born way too early.

Fio isn't registering an opinion. It's their lives.

Exponential Proportions

I read that the amazingly fecund Michelle Duggar has just given birth to her eighteenth child. A century ago, this large a family wouldn't have been quite as remarkable as it is nowadays, when birth control is readily available. Husband objects to the size of the family on the grounds of population control. I just wonder how the parents keep all the names straight. I myself have been known to go through husband's name, all three of the children's names, and the dog's name before hitting the right one.

I also ponder the math. If, as seems probable, the Duggars end up with at least twenty-five kids, and if each of these kids marries and, following the Full Quiver Baptist dogma, produces at least twenty-five kids, ol' Jim Bob and Michelle will have 625 grandchildren to remember the birthdays of. If the pattern continues, their great-grandchildren will number 16,625, and so on, until in the not-so-distant future, the country's name will have to be changed to the United States of Duggars.

Of course, at that time they'll have to pay full-price for everything instead of getting it used because everyone will be Duggars.
