Fiorella is dense--at least that's what her doctor said. Well, actually what she said is that Fio's bones are dense, but Fio could have told her that. Twenty years ago Fio learned that her bones had the density of a women half her age, which meant she would never get osteoporosis. All Fio can say is "Thank you, genetics. Thank you, all you cows whose milk I drank from childhood on and still drink today."

Fio is getting discouraged in her quest to find Spanish teaching aids for herself, but she persists. If she can get a rock edge built along her entrada de los coches, she will eventually work out ways to help her learn el espanol.

Trump sinks deeper and deeper in the dreck. It's come out that he and Putin planned the air strike scenario two months ago. Putin may have also had something to do with the gassing. WHEN WILL THIS END? WHEN WILL THE LEGISLATURE REVOLT? WHEN WILL THE PUBLIC REVOLT? WHEN CAN WE BE PROUD OF AMERICA AGAIN?

Keefik!
Yes, she's at it again. Fiorella, who is addicted to languages and never shy about asking people about their obvious accents or unusual last names, has stumbled onto a real live Syrian--the mortgage banker who handed her refinancing, of all people. Of course, Fio asked Lisa Safady how to say "hello" in Arabic, and Lisa told her that for a woman, it's keefik. And, of course, that's the way Fiorella greeted Lisa the next time she saw her. To which Lis replied--mnee hah keefik enthee el yohmmh (how are you today?), another phrase for Fio to add to her treasury.

Drowned Child
Yes, Fiorella has seen the photo of the three-year-old Syrian boy in his blue shorts and red shirt, face down in the sand. And she cried. But there is so much more to it than this one child, to all the children, all the families. Fiorella wants everyone rescued. She wants everyone to have a safe place to live, a place where no one has to risk drowning in ocean crossings or smothering in the back of trucks or being shot by border guards. People should not have to flee their homelands because of their race, sex, or religion.
But all Fio can do is try to spread the love.

TV Tidings
When Fiorella turned on TV last night, she switched quickly through the talking heads discussing chemical warfare in Syria and past Piers Morgan dissing Congress for backing away from banning assault guns and went straight to Scott McGillivray's Income Property, one of her favorites. It's not that she doesn't care about chemical warfare or gun control--it's that she can't do a thing about either of them and wants to be in a pleasant frame of mind before she shuts her eyes at night.
Which is also the reason that she won't be watching the Duggars flaunting their nineteen children in one-child China.
