Oz, Trump, Dwarfs and Duggars

Dr. Oz says that using olive oil lowers chances of a premature death. Does that mean Fio's fingernails, which she daily dips in olive oil, will live longer?
*
Fio thinks Trump's ideal world is one in which the men make loads of money and the women pose for nude photos. Notice that he hasn't blown up about those pictures of his wife.  Fio suspects he may have released them himself to show her off--sort of a yada-yada-ya-ya, look what I have and you don't. Perhaps he thought they'd bring in more votes.

Fio used to watch The Little People until the Matt went meglomaniacal and all the right wing crazy stuff came out. She watches The Little Couple now, and hopes Bill Klein and Jen Arnold aren't as fake as the Roloffs turned out to be.  And then there are the Duggars, but that's a bigger story--pun intended.

Love and Duty

I lower the blinds at night and raise them in the morning.  I close doors, drawers, and toilet lids. I know all the kids' phone numbers by heart, and I observe all birthdays.  I pay the bills, deal with IRS, and take care of the bank accounts.  I strike up relationships with the neighbors and wave at every vehicle that goes down our country road.  I give generous tips in all circumstances.  I pray for everyone--everyone--every day.

I am a woman, a wife, a mother.  I can do no other.

Christmas Day

Minnesota Son and wife arrived about six yesterday, Fiorella finished her decorating by about seven, and the rest of the evening was spent cleaning up and planning for today.

The kitchen crew will have its hands full--ham and turkey and salmon, green beans and broccoli and mushrooms, potatoes and dressing, salad, pies and pudding.  Husband, Daughter, and Daughters-in-Law will take care of most of the cooking, with Fio boiling the potatoes and baking the salmon--she already made the pudding last night (smart girl).

God bless our table and our family. And God bless you and yours.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Mrs. Wiener's Decision

The big story now is not whether Wiener should resign--he's resigned--but whether his wife should divorce him. A lot of talkative women, like Joy Behar, are saying she should.

Is it a law that a wife has to divorce a husband who has betrayed or embarrassed her? Or some sort of societal rule? How can the word "should" be used in such a circumstance? Fio thinks nobody should formulate, or at least no should voice, an opinion as to what Mrs. Wiener should do. It's nobody's business but hers.

Wives are not all alike, relationships are not all alike, and circumstances are not all alike. Let's get off the backs of wives who are in bad situations. They've got enough to deal with.
