Fiorella's major troll somehow broke through being unfriended and showed up on Fio's Facebook timeline again, foaming at the mouth with accusations and threats. Fio, who tried to play nice at first, ultimately had to appeal to her Romance Writers of America chapter for instructions on how to get rid of said troll, then blocked her--once and for all, she hopes.
Fiorella is perplexed about why a seemingly nice person would go so ape-shit crazy over her political postings--maybe because they make sense.

Fiorella's Confession
Fiorella strives to be nice at all times to all beings and even things like plants, rocks and furniture, which she anthropomorphizes, so it's hard on her when people are mean to her. When they criticize her, ridicule her, betray her. Fio knows she must brace herself because it's the way of the world, but it's hard. That's why she writes this blog, to get her own word in.
UPDATE: Fio wrote the depressive post above last night, then became involved in a family crisis late in the evening. You would think it would drive her deeper into depression, but she immediately devised a plan to deal with the situation., slept well, and awoke this morning rarin' to go. As she's told you, she's a woman of action. ALWAYS FACE PROBLEMS HEAD ON!

Current Issues
Instead of devoting her day to writing yesterday, Fio devoted it to another hospital visit and her baby car, whose battery died at the hospital (irony), leaving Fio and Husband stranded. But all's well that ends well, and by the end of the day, everyone and everything was shipshape again.
It looks like the electronic underpinning of the country is shipshape again too--until the next time.
Such a frail system to live by. Fio has long warned that God may decide to turn off the electricity, but it never dawned on her that technology could be manipulated to turn upon itself. A deeper concern is why do people do things like this, deliberately destroy.

Anyone with Access
The jury's in. It's impossible to tell who's going to pick up a gun and start shooting.
Some of the school shootings have been blamed on the victims--they must have bullied their murderers somewhere along the line. Others have been blamed on the shooters' parents--they must not have brought their children up right. Some have been blamed on the shooters' own unique psyches--they must have been resentful outsiders. But the shooting in Washington state belies all of these pop psychology explanations. The shooter, who targeted his own relatives, was an insider, a popular football hero, and his family was supportive and loving.
Who will the next shooter be? Anyone with access.

Empty Heroes
Fiorella has noticed that certain people are always the heroes of their own stories, those little anecdotes we all tell each other about ourselves. Most of us downplay our triumphs and, with a pang of sorrow, laugh at our failures, but some people twist their stories to makes themselves shine and everyone else look stupid.
Maybe it's protective bravado that's driving these people to shellac themselves with unmitigated success. Maybe it's plain old boorishness. Whatever it is, Fiorella finds these people annoying and avoids them.
