Fiorella is determined to post a picture of a nascent bluebonnet patch with the heading "A watched bluebonnet never blooms, or at least it seams that way," a clever little observation she made when she first started trotting off to Verizon to get her newish phone set up. Actually, now, five days and three trip to Verizon later, there are four bluebonnets starting to bloom around the driveway, but Fio doesn't want to lose such a good line so if you're reading her FB posts too, please don't give her away.

La casa has been taking a couple of hits lately. Some of the electricity is out and the alarm system went wacko.

The local newspaper covered Fio's four-person march quite nicely, and Fiorella's planning to photocopy the page and preserve it for posterity. But first she'll probably wag it in the faces of everyone she knows.

Current Issues
Instead of devoting her day to writing yesterday, Fio devoted it to another hospital visit and her baby car, whose battery died at the hospital (irony), leaving Fio and Husband stranded. But all's well that ends well, and by the end of the day, everyone and everything was shipshape again.
It looks like the electronic underpinning of the country is shipshape again too--until the next time.
Such a frail system to live by. Fio has long warned that God may decide to turn off the electricity, but it never dawned on her that technology could be manipulated to turn upon itself. A deeper concern is why do people do things like this, deliberately destroy.

Here, There, Everywhere
Fiorella lives in a house of cords--the lamp cords, the computer cords, the printer cord, the thousand and one cords Husband uses which Fio fathoms not. There are even cords in the garage--on hooks, in baskets, in drawers.
Oddly enough, Fio's great-grandmother, according to an old family picture, also lived in a house of cords. Cords that were strung across the wall from (wonder of wonders!) electric light to electric light.
So maybe in the future, the electronic plug-ins will disappear like the the ones controlling the electric lights did. Maybe charging will be done through the wifi.
Not that Fio knows what she's talking about, but you get the idea.

Verizon Is a Loser!
Casa Fiorella is incommunicado. The handsets won't work and neither Fio nor her husband were able to contact Verizon to report the matter (a pox upon their house). Then the electricity went off. And yes, Fio and Husband pay their bills.
Fio drove down to Target and bought a cord phone, but it wouldn't work either. Maybe it's the phone jack. Maybe Fio and Husband will end up having to communicate with smoke signals.
Oh, the electricity did come back on. Apparently the new neighbors across the street had something to do with the outage.
Maybe they killed the handsets too
