Mixed Bag

Just when Fio thinks everything is hunky-dory, her baby car refuses to turn over when she comes come back from delivering boxes to her INR nurse for a future move, her new computer decides not to let Fio "save," and her body decides to come down sick. On the other hand, friend Patricia has set up an electronic route which allows her and Fio to send story ideas back and forth, friend Jane/Juana has sent Fio a pack of Spanish cards that she can carry in her purse for odd moments, and she's recovered from whatever bug had her down. Guess it evens out, but Fiorella sure would like to get ahead of the curve.

Miata, Television, Poetry

At least once a week, someone tells Fiorella how cute her baby car is, and they're not just guys who are checking out her legs.
*
Fio watched a lot of TV as a child and assumed she would end up living in a New York high rise like the characters in the shows she watched. Instead, she lives in in a lovely home she herself designed which is set the middle of a five-acre wooded wilderness that she has yet to totally explore. Life couldn't get any better.

My goal is the same when I awake
Every morning, and through the day--
To make the world a better place
By what I do and what I say

Analysis of Trump's Campaign Strategy

It's a good thing that Fio's baby car knows the way to carry the sleigh through white and drifted snow-o because all the way into Austin yesterday, Fiorella was analyzing Donald Trump's campaign strategy. It's like he's trying to close a business deal.  First he bullied off the smaller contenders.  Then he attacked the major contender, using every low-down tactic in the book. Then, if he wins, he'll go into the third stage, wiggling out of every commitment he signed onto.

America, are you ready?

Here He Comes to Save the Day!

Fio's reporting in late this morning because (1) she got caught in a dastardly plot to invade her computer and (2) when she grabbed her laptop, jumped in the car, and turned the key, nothing happened.   She couldn't get any further than control-alt-delete, and she couldn't drive over to Click for help.

Stymied.

Then, with perfect timing, Austin son burst through the door.  He had come over to get Husband's signature on a legal document, but he also rescued Fiorella (control-alt-delete, then use task master to remove the offender), and now he's working on the car.

Our hero.

Hard Luck Story

Fiorella and Husband are going through a bad stretch.  First her credit card was hacked, which meant she had to cut it up and has to wait for a new one to be mailed to her.  Then she lost her key ring, which meant she couldn't start her car and didn't have a house key.  Then, despite the fact that Fiorella bought a new car key and had it entered into the Mazda system, her baby car conked out again after bringing her and Husband home from dinner.  At the same time, not only did Husband lose the keys to the loaner car he was using because his car was in the shop getting a damaged rear view mirror replaced, but he forgot to bring his charge card to the restaurant.

Husband paid cash for our dinner, and we did make it home from the restaurant safely, which is when Fio's car went out.  Husband has found his credit card and his missing keys, but your Fio still lacks a house key and a usable vehicle.

And she wonders why it takes her so long to grind out a book.

Near Tragedy.

Sonia Dog has forgiven Fiorella, but Fiorella has not forgiven herself.  She nearly killed Sonia through sheer negligence.

You all too often read about people who, with tragic results, forget they have children with them and leave the little ones in a hot car, but Fio forgot she had Sonia with her and left doggie in the car--in the garage.  It wasn't till a couple of hours later that Husband, the hero of the story, found baby dog and brought her inside, hot and panting. And luckily, the car's sun roof was open so Sonia did have access to fresh air, although the garage was stuffy.

This story could have had a bad ending.

Onward!

Fiorella learned something yesterday as she sat waiting hour after hour for her car to be fixed.  She learned her writing self-consciousness had been totally healed.  Yes, Fio hauled out her laptop and revised two chapters while she was in the dealership--and one of them included a love scene.

And when she spotted a young woman reading a paperback while waiting, Fio put a smile on her face, asked what she was reading (a romance), announced herself as a romance writer, and gave her a promotional bookmark.

To top it all off, one of the technicians sought Fio out and asked if she had written the book in her car that had her name on it.  Then he told her his wife writes romances and is trying to get published.  Fiorella recommended RWA, gave him her card, contact information, and a bookmark, and told him to have his wife get in touch.

What a day!

Last Night

All is well
All is swell
The computer quits
The battery emits
The fire glows
The cold wind blows
All's been said
Going to bed.

Burning the Midnight Oil

The post Fiorella wrote totally disappeared.  Her baby car is in the shop.  The plumber was here for two hours ferreting out a 400 gallon per hour leak.  Husband and Fio are working on an LLC form for the family enterprise.  Her self-esteem hit rock bottom when she spent an hour filling out a form for her publisher.  Every time she's turned around, there has been something or someone demanding her immediate attention.  And she's also trying to work on WHERE THE HEART LEADS.

Oh well, there's always tonight, after everyone else has gone to bed.

THERAPY BY ANGER

Have you noticed Fio's on an upswing?  It's all because of that ninety-year-old woman front-ending her in the Walgreen's parking lot.  Fio wasn't injured, and it turned out that Baby Car wasn't hurt either, but Fio was very angry about the woman's refusal to acknowledge she'd hit Fio or that Fiorella had honked the life out of Baby's horn beforehand.

In fact, Fiorella's mind flamed with anger all the rest of the day and the next day too, and the immediate anger overcame the recurring depression caused by rerunning the mental tape of last summer.   Now Fiorella has to  find other things to blow up at.
