Another Adventure

Fiorella has been exploring the property again lately. A couple of days ago, she took a break from rocking the north side of the driveway to wander further into a the woods and found a charming dell her yardman had obviously mowed. Further on down, she came across the northside dry creek and lifted some rocks out of it to add to her cart. The whole time she was very cautious because she'd taken a bad fall when she was exploring the southside dry creek last week. It's an area she wasn't familiar with, and she lost her footing, ending up on her back and unable to pull herself, so she had to  scoot a couple of yards on her bottom to the fence line and haul herself up on an iron pole.

Fio likes a challenge, but this one was scary. She lives in rattlesnake country.

On Hearing that Hemingway's Cuban Home Has Been Restored as a Tourist Attraction

Fiorella would never be interested in visiting the house in which a famous author has lived or even seeing his study. A house is just a house, no matter who lives in it, and a study is just a study. The essence of an author does not live on in his former environment after he dies, but in his works.  Besides, being somewhat familiar with the authoring business herself, Fio can tell you that we do not restrict themselves to neat-as-a-pin desks or stylishly-decorated studies when we write. The bed, the couch, the floor, a restaurant table, a moving vehicle--anything will do when the words start flowing.

Back Again!

Hello, everyone!  Welcome back into the world of Fiorella, who is recovering not only from an auto accident, not only from tripping over her own feet and skinning her left arm on the way down, but also from accidentally showering her laptop with an icebag she was filling to soothe said arm. Then she got sick.

But fear not.  After a bout of deep depression, intrepid Fio is on the upswing. Her baby car lost its front end, but Mazda and Allstate will fix her up; although her arm has swollen and turned purple, nothing is broken; her Toshiba fried, but Click Computer Repair was able to transfer all its contents to Husband's old Dell.  And she herself is on the mend from whatever flu or allergy was driving her crazy.

But please send kind thoughts Fio's way. The girl needs a break.

Car Trouble

Another adventure--Fio hit a police car as she was trying to drive across a divided street.  No one was injured, not even the chocolate Easter bunnies in the trunk, and the police car was only scratched--but Baby Car lost its entire front bumper, which means Fio will be without wheels for about a week. Thank goodness Husband's car is back home again.

This has been a bad month for automobiles at Casa Fiorella.

Bloody Fiorella

Running a little behind on the news, but Fio tripped on the road a couple of days ago, when she was out jogging with the dog, and hit the asphalt face-first, which required a speedy trip to the ER.  Since she was dripping with blood from her mouth, nose, a cut on her forehead, and various other scratches and scrapes, the triage nurse moved her to the front of the line.  No two ways about it--Fio was a mess.

So now she's home with a yellow bump on her forehead, an upper lip that's stiff as a duck's beak, a purple shiner, and a broken nose.

Please think healing thoughts in Fio's direction.

THERAPY BY ANGER

Have you noticed Fio's on an upswing?  It's all because of that ninety-year-old woman front-ending her in the Walgreen's parking lot.  Fio wasn't injured, and it turned out that Baby Car wasn't hurt either, but Fio was very angry about the woman's refusal to acknowledge she'd hit Fio or that Fiorella had honked the life out of Baby's horn beforehand.

In fact, Fiorella's mind flamed with anger all the rest of the day and the next day too, and the immediate anger overcame the recurring depression caused by rerunning the mental tape of last summer.   Now Fiorella has to  find other things to blow up at.
