Double Thanks

Dear Diary,

Instead of taking Sonia Dog to the vet the next morning, Husband took Fio to the emergency room.  Yes, Sonia was much recovered, but Fio couldn't seem to catch her breath.  By the time she reached the hospital, she was breathing just fine, but she spent three hours in a treatment room being checked out for everything from congestive heart failure to blood clots, eventually receiving a clean bill of health.

All Fio can say is that the whole episode was weird, and that she thanks God it wasn't more serious.  She is also thankful that Sonia is up and running.

Amen.  Amen.

Bloody Fiorella

Running a little behind on the news, but Fio tripped on the road a couple of days ago, when she was out jogging with the dog, and hit the asphalt face-first, which required a speedy trip to the ER.  Since she was dripping with blood from her mouth, nose, a cut on her forehead, and various other scratches and scrapes, the triage nurse moved her to the front of the line.  No two ways about it--Fio was a mess.

So now she's home with a yellow bump on her forehead, an upper lip that's stiff as a duck's beak, a purple shiner, and a broken nose.

Please think healing thoughts in Fio's direction.

Spoke Too Soon

Fiorella spoke too soon.  She couldn't get Sonia dog to "leave it" while on their evening walk--"it" being a dead fawn at the top of the drive next to the street--and the back of Fio's head ended up  hitting the driveway--hard.

Fio got scared. She's had far too many bonks to the head lately so she called the insurance nurse, who advised her to go to the local emergency room.  Four hours, one pint of blood, and a CT head scan later, hard-headed Fio was diagnosed as unhurt, then given a page of symptoms that, if they occurred, should send her back to the hospital.

Sonia's in the dog house, and from now on, Fio's promised Husband she'll use the nose leader with her, and release it if any deer--dead or alive--show up while she and Doggie are walking.
