Not THAT MUCH TO SAY---

Yo, Fiorella is running late--Granddaughter had an end-of-the-year dance recital and, like any properly proud grandmother, your girl attended her show. Must tell you that B's grandparents on the other side of the family also also attended, which warmed Fio's heart to the core: with two strong families behind her, Granddaughter is off to a great start.

Because of the recital, your girl put off the shopping spree that she and Daughter had been planning. The way Fio sees it is that children need immediate attention while women's clothing can hang on a rack till kingdom come.

During the drive back to the house, Fio realized yet again how much Austin has changed AND GROWN since she and husband left it twenty-some years ago. She also felt sad for the Austin that once was--when the university towered above all, when there wasn't as much traffic, and when one prominent newscaster renowned for his integrity--your girl's father-in-law--ruled the local airways.

As you know, transportation is one of Fiorella's biggest problems, and Son L, Cheriot, and her former maid--the three she depends on--are not always available, so Fio is thinking about adding another service...or two. Oh, for the days she used to drive all over Austin in one of Husband's showy cars!

That's all for today. Your girl will try to be more upbeat tomorrow.
