What the heck is going on here! Fiorella's beginning to think that her computer entries are being sabotaged....or maybe it's just the rough water she's been treading around in. Memories are not always the best thing to poke around in.
Like those of her first pregnancy, which was such a joy--but didn't take. The darkness, the doctor who said he'd be at the hospital door but wasn't, her having to climb three rusty floors with blood dripping down her legs. Being assigned to a dimly-lit room off to the side because someone more important than she was giving birth.....then being told her baby couldn't be saved.
Would it have been a girl or a boy? Husband and Fio were both bright so maybe she/he would have done or invented something that saved the world--or at least entertained it. Whatever, her baby's small beginnings went out with the trash, and Fiorella was desolate.
Later, we adopted a beautiful baby boy and loved him with all our hearts. Then, as a surprise, a few years later, Fio gave birth to a baby boy, and a few years more, a baby girl. More than that, Fiorella will not tell you because the rest is the the children's story.
Except for your girl's part of it, which is that she loves all her children and weeps when she is away from them.
