Couple Coupling

Hey, Fio forgot to tell you that The Little Couple is back on. Yeah, her favorite show.

Jen and Bill are still going through the mechanics of putting together a baby medically for a surrogate to carry, and the premier show started off with them almost succeeding--but Jen's eggs disappeared at the last moment, which meant Bill's collection cup went to waste. She cried and he was sweet, and they're going to try again, for the fourth time.

Other updates are that Jen's got a cute new haircut and has had a little work done--probably botox. Also, that constant giggle of hers, which was sometimes a little hard to take, is gone. But her wardrobe, as usual, is tres chic. As for Bill, he's gained weight again, but still has the facial hair. Tying it all up, the house they are building looks like it's about halfway done.

It's on TLC, Tuesdays at 9:00. Try it--you'll like it.

Jen continues to cackle after every sentence she speaks. I just tuned in recently (a 2014 airing) and she was at it as usual. This is ridiculous and I've decided to quit watching the show. If she could make it through medical school, pass the boards and practice medicine, there is NO reason she can't break this absurd habit.

People have quit smoking. They've kicked drugs. They've stopped biting their nails. Quitting the mindless giggling should not be any more difficult.

This doesn't mean she's happy. It comes across as not being comfortable with oneself and attempting to be pleasing to everyone...but it's overdone, way overdone.

I'm sure this didn't happen overnight, and if it began developing in childhood/teenhood, why didn't her parents correct it in the bud?

You're supposed to laugh when something is funny, not because you spoke a sentence or said a few words.

There is nothing cute or charming about this. Her size doesn't make it more acceptable, and it's NOT the result of her size, either. I've witnessed normal-height people with this same neurotic problem. They are so clueless to how annoying it is.

The guy at the muffin shop I occasionally go to has this exact same problem. He can't go 20 seconds in interaction without giggling. I just keep a straight face. I refuse to pander to it and pretend I'm just as amused at whatever he's amused at over a sale of muffins.
