Fiorella's Christmas present was early this year....a telephone call from a British minister and his wife whom your girl came close to while they were in Texas. We had a great time and, when it was time for them to return home, they set up a phone that allowed us---my pal and your girl--to stay in touch across the waves. But, alas, the system failed in about a year...... UNTIL....Fio carelessly picked up the ringing phone in the hallway AND IT WAS MY BRITISH FRIEND!
It was WONDERFUL to talk about what's going on in my friend's world, and even more wonderful to hear her voice again!
By the way, it's actually getting cold and colder in Central Texas--what a relief to the heat that we've been suffering from under for the sun, but (sigh) we'll probably get it again, come summer..... this sun, it is a curious thing.....
