Contentment

Acorns splatter the ground, we've hauled out the blanket for the bed, the shadows are long across the driveway, and all the wood rings are full.

Surely this is the very best time of year.

Scampering squirrels, rolling acorns play a fall symphony on the roof.
Fluttering leaves, earlier evening shadows announce a chilly north wind, that’s the truth.
Flocks of ducks even geese are flying south in a vee. On a crisp clear night a million stars you can see.
A warming fire is nice and the smell of the pine, but I think the best part of fall is the increased snuggle time.
