Hot Weather
Fiorella is such a wienie. The higher the temperature outside gets, the more she stays inside, where the air conditioning cools her body and the ceiling fan allows her to breathe. Yes, she's aware that people all over the globe live year-around in much hotter temperatures, but they don't have a choice. Fio does, and she chooses 70 degrees, winter or summer--although occasionally, when Husband isn't looking, she'll slip the summer temp down to 68..

Put Asunder by an Air Conditioner
The upstairs air conditioner is out, and the new one won't get installed till next week, which means Fio, who likes to sleep cold, is bedding down on the couch in the den for the duration while Husband, who actually likes the warmer temperature, is staying upstairs. Sonia Dog is rotating between them.

Autumn
The weather has changed and Fiorella is invigorated. Fio, who lives in the moment, had almost forgotten that milder temperatures existed. She breathed in the cool, moist air this morning as she walked Sonia Dog, and her stride lengthened and her heart sang.
Sixty-five degrees--the ideal temperature. Eden.

Hot, Hot, Hot!
Welcome to the dog days of August. The temps have been running over 100 degrees in Central Texas, and Fiorella is totally innervated, even inside the house. No matter what the air conditioning reads, her body tells her it is way too hot.
But we should bless August, because that means all the months that follow will be cooler. Well--except that September sometimes gives us a run for our money.

GOOD Morning!
The weather, it is a-turnin' and Fio woke up with a big smile on her face, snuggling under the covers for a while before rising. It was 73 air-conditioned degrees inside, but in the 50s outside, and the body knew it.
Fiorella was also smiling because yesterday afternoon she received word she'd made the finals in the First Coast Beacon, a Florida writing contest. Yes, Fio, who thought she'd never break into Florida, has crashed through the continental barrier for the third time.
And, to top it all off, she's going on a joy ride to Houston this weekend, traveling with Friend Katie to an RWA conference where Katie will pick up a ribbon and Fio will agent hunt.
A good start to a good day.
