Idle Conjecture

Sometimes Fiorella wonders if, like cats, we all are born with nine lives, and that each time we lose one of them, we move into another dimension in which we're still alive. Fio also wonders if sometimes the dimensions get confused...and so do we. Interesting, at least to Fiorella.

Incidentals

Fiorella, who doesn't want to neglect any of her duties or forget any of her commitments, lives by lists, systems, and routines. Husband lives by the moment. They drive each other crazy.
*
Fio's Christmas cards will be going out in record time this year. Baby is the star of the show, of course. Stay tuned.
*
The tinsel garlands Fio hung from the trees along the driveway look great. She's learned a lot since  the winds and cedars attacked her display when she came up with the idea three years ago. She now uses tinseled twisties to keep the garlands in place, and if she finds a cedar that has had the audacity to ensnare one of her darlings, she prunes it on the spot.
*
Fio loved the surprise snow, but alas, the lavenders in the pots beside the front door didn't make it through the accompanying surprise freeze. Fio will probably wait until winter is over before replacing them. After all, there may be be more surprises in store this year..
*
Regarding the political scene, Fio finds it interesting that Trump is intent on being the loudest mouth around, while Mueller plays it mum. Fio's betting on Mr. Silence.
*
Fio woke up this morning in distress about a school assignment she'd forgotten. News flash, Fiorella. You grad-grad-graduated lo these many moons ago.

Some people are totally transparent, but Trump is totally opaque, even to himself. Not that he'd know what opaque means.

Serious Stuff

Fiorella has looked death in the face twice so far, and to save her life, she had to have a pacemaker, then an artifical heart valve, installed in her chest. Her scrapes with eternity made her acutely aware that her visit to earth is limited, and she decided she'd better make good use of every minute of every day remaining. After all, third time is the charm.

The Ones Who Went Ahead

I often think of the dead,
the ones who gave me life--
my parents, grandparents, ancestors
back to the first beginnings.
I think of those who were
my friends and teachers,
of everyone my life entwined--
and I love them all
and feel their  love
surrouding me
silently

Choice

Life never stays the same.  It gets better or it gets worse.  That's why Fiorella is always trying to improve herself and her environment.  She prefers the side of the angels.

The Time to Reap

Every generation has
Its season in the sun
Sharon Kite's husband died
The harvest has begun

I Will Produce

Fiorella has been thinking about all the people killed by the terrorist bombings in France, people who were young and vibrant and full of promise.  Then she started thinking about people killed in auto accidents in this country. And the ones killed by random attacks by thugs.  And the ones who have died from sickness or disease.

Yet Fio is still alive.

Thank you, God, for my life,  I will strive to make good use of every second of it.

Sonia's World

Sonia Dog lives in a world of love and always has.  She was a favorite in her kennel, then became Fiorella's darling.

Fio and Husband have fed her, walked her, and cuddled her. She's had the best of medical care, been taken to PetsMart training classes, sleeps in bed with Fio and Husband, is petted, cosseted and accommodated.  Her food bowl is always full, her water is regularly changed.  She receives a retriever stick every morning and Milkbone treats throughout the day.  The back seat of the car is fitted with a hammock in which Sonia reclines in comfort and grace when she rides around with Mommy and Daddy.

Every child in the world should be so lucky.
