Fiorella finished what she could of the taxes today and sent the rest off to the CPA. Next year it's going to be easier, with Fio's new business charge card and the file system she's setting up.

Fio and Husband are working on the shelf wall in the den now. He doesn't know it, but the shelf wall in the living room comes next.

Neighborhood update: Gizmo, the large, fluffy friendly dog is loose again. Friend Mickey called Fio to get the name and phone number of the owner. This may be a continuing story.

Birds, Blogs, Blank
Husband, who likes to watch birds, has placed binoculars on the upstairs bedroom windowsill, the upstairs hall windowsill, the living room windowsill, and the den windowsill. Fiorella has placed note pads and pens on her bathroom counter, on her desk in her office, and on the hassock in front of the couch in the den. We believe in availability.

Fio ran off all of her 2015 blogs yesterday, and today she'll get the pages drilled so she can put them in a loose-leaf notebook. She'd like to think that someone--maybe one of her children, maybe a researcher--might be interested in her literary endeavors. But even if her name gets lost, if every page gets tossed into a fire, her words are out there in the universe for eternity.

Fiorella, who likes to thinks in threes, is searching for something else to say, but is coming up blank.

Handyman Blues
Fiorella is not happy with the new shelves in the den. The handyman charged lot$ of money, then used substandard wood. And he didn't clean up after himself. And he didn't match the design on the other side of the fireplace. And, while Fio and Husband are currently tacking and buffing the shelves to make them more acceptable, they may have to replace them with a better cut of wood and start over.
Fio had discussed a couple of other projects with the handyman, but they're not going to happen. At least, not with him.

The Truth of the Matter
The most active room in Fiorella's house is the den, formerly known as the family room, now often referred to as the bone room due to Sonia Dog's habit of decorating the venerable oriental carpet with well-chewed rawhide bones. Actually though, the room is command central. Husband has gathered everything he might possibly ever need within reaching distance of his recliner while Fiorella lounges on the leather couch to make out her interminable lists, write her romance novels, and catch up on Income Property, Big Bang, and The Little Couple.
The rest of the house is just for show.

Queen!
Fio spent all day yesterday in the den organizing her thoughts--literally, since she jots down almost every inkling that comes to mind, mostly on little scraps of colored paper left over from her various art projects, then sticks them in the shelves besdie her desk. But now she's organized in files: writing, landscaping, craft ideas, poetry inspirations, TV ideas, character ideas and their clothes (torn out from ads), ideas for the poetry and romance classes she'll be teaching this fall, and, of course, topics for FIORELLA. She carried a lot of other stuff up to her study and dropped a couple of armfuls in the workroom, which doubles as crafts room and laundry. She also filled three trash bags.
Onward, Fiorella! If you can organize your mess in the den, you can conquer the world!
