Physics and Perception

If a tree falls in the wood and no one hears it, does it make a sound? Some people consider this to be a philosophical question, but to Fiorella, it is pure physics.

Think about it.  What causes sound--something coming in contact with something else.  If Fiorella  goes outside, she can hear the wind rustle the trees.  Inside, if she tries to to play her violin (laugh, chortle), the bow scrapes the strings. Even small motions produce sounds--Fiorella suspects that atoms emit a tiny squeak of horror when they splat against each other.

"Sound," according to Fiorella's analysis, is what we call our perception of this event, this contact between two entities. But what sort of things are happening in our universe that we don't have the physical equipment to perceive?

Consider . . . .

The big bang theory is real--yes, the universe developed from the explosion of a single point.  But what existed before that single point?  God is real.
*
Fiorella has read that atoms are few and far between out there in space.  So, what's between them?  Multiple dimensions are real.
*
Fiorella has had the experience of walking into a situation, suddenly feel very light and floaty, and knowing exactly what was going to happen next and that she could control it.  Time is not real.

Fiorella Ponders

Part and parcel of being an artist is that appearances are very important.  Fiorella can't walk through a  room without tweaking a pillow and can't walk into the garage without sighing in sorrow.
*
Fiorella figures our atoms are recycles, but that there's something more--a spirit, a soul--that lives forever
*
Your Fio was born with her skin on inside out, a vulnerability which makes for a very good poet, but a troubled psyche.  She has her ups and downs.
*
Fiorella forgives those who trespass against her, but she does not forget.  It's a matter of self-protection.
*
The only realities are life, death, and dinner.
