Fio woke up to a phone call from "Arthur," who told her that he was from Microsoft. "Sure you are," she replied, then started laughing. Damn. "Arthur" hung up without giving her a chance to exercise her espanol on him.

Fiorella has been screaming a lot and crying a lot this past week. The screaming is when she is trying to burst through roadblocks. The crying is when someone is kind to her.

Fio is blessed to have good friends and a loving family, but when it comes right down to it, she is the wife and mother, the one who has to make the decisions and deal with the consequences.

Dealing with Bangaladesh
Fiorella has gotten so she looks forward to the phone calls from Mike, Jeff, or Laura, who have disturbingly thick Indian accents, telling her that her computer is in imminent danger. Yesterday, she told "Ben" that her computer was just fine and that he should be ashamed of himself. Another would-be helpful caller hung up on her when she said "which computer?" Fio's also been known to ask the caller if his mother knows what he's doing. And, in the future, she's thinking of giving morality lectures.
That should take her off the lists.
That should take her off the lists.

Computer Scammers
When someone supposedly named "George" or "Eddie" calls and is kind enough to want to fix Fio's computer if she will just turn the controls over to him, she is very wary--with two semester of Hindi and three years of Telegu under her belt, Fiorella knows an Indian accent when she hears one.
"Does your mother know what you are doing?" she has been known to ask. Other times she has been mean enough to inquire which computer her caller is referring to, an inquiry which results in a phone being slammed down in her ear. Yesterday, "William" started out by saying her computer was doing fine, but . . . . The second Fio heard the "b" start to form, she shouted an appreciative Thanks! into the phone and clicked off.
Feel free to use any or all of the above when Bangalore calls.
