Diagnoses

According to the a cardiologist that Fio consulted about the discomfort she's been experiencing in the vicinity of her pacemaker, she has shingles--the invisible kind that appears one evening--that's one evening only--as a light rash and disappears the next morning after Fio smears Neosporin on it.

Through the years, Fio has been diagnosed with such baddies as histoplasmosis, multiple sclerosis,  diabetes, and sleep apnea, none of which panned out.

Shingles, welcome to the club.

Walking Dead

Daughter tells her that it's related to her double-thick eyelashes, but Fiorella has heart problems.  It's only because of an artificial aortic valve, which protects her from congestive heart failure, and a pacemaker, which keeps her heart in lock-step, that Fiorella still treads this earth.

But is this the real Fiorella or some kind of golem?  Is Fio who she thinks she is, or merely an expression of her former self?
