Paradise

Fio doesn't remember if she's posted this short-short before, but whatever, enjoy!

Paradise
Heaven was, well, heavenly.  Each day was just as wonderful as the day before.  The sunrise was always a blushing gold, the sunset a drama of orange and black.  The grass was always green and smelled of eternal spring.  George golfed with his spirit guide every day and always won.  His wife never whined and his children were always polite, obedient, and happy.
In fact, after a while perfection got somewhat boring.
“I really didn’t realize heaven would be so much the same all the time,” George finally said to his spirit guide.
The being looked at him in surprise. “What made you think this is heaven?”

Fiorella Speaks

I think the mosquito that's been buzzing around me for the past two days finally died of bloat.

I like Spanish--no case endings on nouns.

When I get to heaven, I will be met by all the umbrellas I've lost through the years.

I am very tired today.  Maybe it has something to do with not getting any sleep last night.

Canine Snippets

Whatever is in Milkbones, it's addicting, at least for Sonya Dog.  She'll sit outside the pantry door whining forever.  And if that doesn't work, she yips imperiously--and annoyingly

Doggie sleeps on our feet at night--very comforting in the winter, but we may feel differently as the hot summer advances.

Husband may not believe in a human heaven but he describes a dog heaven, in which Tina and Freelove, Sandy, Blackie, crazy Bella, Hugo, and Wendy come to greet us and show us the ropes.  Sounds great to Fio.

The Wendy Book

Let me see if I can say this without weeping buckets like I did yesterday when I thought about it, that my vision of heaven involves being greeted at the gates by all the dogs we've ever owned: Tina and Freelove, Sandy, Blackie, Hugo, Crazy Bella, Wendy, and, ultimately, our sweet Sonya.

I'm working on the Wendy Book now. It will be about forty pages of blog entries and photos. Wendy was our first post-children dog. Oops, Gotta go. I'm getting misty-eyed.
