Fiorella doesn't much care for exercise, but she does like to move her body--to stretch her arms and rotate her shoulders, to swim, to stride around the driveway, to breathe deeply and lift her head up to the sky.
Just don't call it exercise.

Rebellious Populace
Fiorella read that Americans aren't meeting the daily requirements for exercise. And they aren't eating like they should. And they don't always floss or wear sun screen. And they don't get regular physical or dental check-ups. And they don't get enough sleep. And they do whatever the hell they want to do instead of what they should do.
Let's face it. The only perfect person is Dr. Oz, but he looks like an animated stick and is from another dimension, the capitol of which is the Emerald City.

Shoe Alert
There's hope. Fio's INR is 2.0, she is sleeping better, walked up and down the stairs twice yesterday, has started using the cane some, and, for supper, went out to Chili's with Husband. Now for the bad news: Fio's comfy black shoes with the velcro closures got lost somewhere between the hospital and home.
Please be on the lookout.

Rebellion in the Ranks
Fiorella is fascinated and amused by the turns the current anti-obesity campaign has taken. First of all, by the idea that people need to be informed that they are overweight because they wouldn't know otherwise. Second, by the idea that an informative lecture from their doctor will do anything other than drive them to Lambe's for a consolatory pound of chocolate fudge. Third, by the idea that there's not only a one-weight-fits-all, but also a one-diet-fits-all. Fourth, by the idea that everyone has the leisure to be dieting and exercising. Fifth, that overweight is a cut-and-dried medical situation rather than an emotional and lifestyle situation. Sixth, that emotional and lifestyle situations can be changed by becoming aware of one's BMI. Seventh, that all it takes to lose weight is a little self-discipline.
And that's just for starters. Pass the potatoes.
