Celebration

Happy anniversary to us!  Husband and I have been married since forever, but we still celebrate our nuptials day each year, usually by the traditional dinner out. But until then, it's business as usual for Fiorella--research, book revisions, making her study habitable, gathering rocks for around the driveway, accumulating Spanish words, etc.  The devil is in the etcetera.

Springtime

Fio finally changed out the bright red Christmas tablecloth yesterday for one painted with pink springtime flowers.  It wasn't just that she was running behind, but that there were three projects piled on the dining table she had to get through first--the anniversary album, the framing of Son's digital painting, and the genealogy stuff.  The album, she finished; the half-done framing of the painting, she moved to the guest room for now; and the genealogy stuff, she stacked on her desk.

The framing will probably be finished this coming week and the genealogy stuff can't go any further till she hears from Cousin Sue or Cousin Syd.  Meanwhile a million more projects will pop up.  And what about that book Fio's supposed to be working on?

Not a Second to Spare

Why is your Fio so busy?  Because she always has too many projects going.  Right now, not only is she attending physical therapy, keeping up with friends, writing a daily blog, revising a manuscript, practicing piano, preparing a poetry program for the SGWL, putting together a photo album of her recent wedding anniversary, cleaning the house, handling the family's financial matters and business opportunities, gathering the income tax info for the accountant, but also lopping off limbs of cedars that are keeping the propane truck from getting through.  Projects on the backburner include framing Younger Son's painting Time Flies, repainting a picture of her daughter as a child, and making small, clever purses to sell on the internet.

And Husband wonders why she hasn't started putting together the jigsaw puzzle he gave her for Christmas.

For a Very Important Date

Fio's arranged for everything, even cleverly buying two planting pots of Lowe's lantana, which she can later plant in her deer-beleaguered front yard, instead of ponying up for expensive flower arrangements that would have to be tossed out a day later.  Today, though, is the schedule day, the day she has to figure out how, in the most economic way, time-wise, to arrange the pick-ups, the print-outs, the deliveries, the set-ups, and Daughter doing her make-up.

And somehow get some extra sleep because, as she writes this message, it is almost 3:30 a.m.

Expect Monday's update to run late.

The Sandman Cometh

After two nights of hot water bottles, soothing baths, and mind-numbing 3 a.m. TV, Fiorella finally got a full night's sleep.  And just in time.

Yes, tomorrow night is the big anniversary celebration.  Fio put her money down on the restaurant party room two months ago and sent out invitations.  Earlier this week she ordered the cake, and the past couple of days, she's been involved with the banner, which should be ready tomorrow morning (fingers crossed).  Yesterday Older son masterminded a search for fifty-cent pieces and started working on the cute memento dealie Fio will affix to the coins--except we're now using one-dollar coins instead.  And today, not only is Daughter taking Fio off to get a manicure, but Fio will stop in and check out the venue again and maybe arrange for some flowers.

Yes, Fiorella is setting up an event her late father-in-law would have called "Fio and her cast of thousands."  Cecil B. DeMille had nothing on her.
