Good Tidings!

Fiorella may have had a a rough time going to sleep last night, but she woke up feeling G-R-R-R-E-A-T!

Reviewing her yesterday,  Fio and Husband finalized the refinancing of la casa, she managed (with the help of Husband and Minnesota Son) to put another picture on Facebook, heard from a high school friend she has been trying to get in touch with for a while, and tore into a rewrite of her novella.

Then, this morning, she read several heartening stories in the newspaper--like that xenophobic Germany will accept 500,000 refugees a year, the Pope is easing  the process for annulments, and almost 10,000,000 people have health insurance now (through Obamacare),

Afterwards, she checked her calendar and learned that today she has brunch with Friend Evelyn and lunch with Friend Paula.

Ah--life is good in FiorellaLand.

Fiorella's Record

Fiorella isn't fond of Facebook.  She's sick and tired of the egotism--as if anyone is interested in reading about the minutia of other people's lives. Oops, wait a minute--isn't that what Fiorella writes about daily on her blog--the minutia of her own life?

And speaking of Fiorella's blog, she has been exploring that list she told you about, the one that gave her access to "comments," and she's discovered information on her viewing statistics. In case you've wondered, seventy-two viewed yesterday's  blog, sixty-three people viewed Thursday's, and ninety-one viewed Wednesday's.  Last month she had 1,975 "pageviews," and her all-time total is 31,968. Actually, she usually averages only about eight viewers per day, but she consoles herself that several people, including Husband, check her out just once a week.

She also discovered that she's had readers 'round the word: 183 in the US, thirty-three in Germany, twenty-six in the UK (thank you, Suzy G.), five in France, four in Latvia, two in China, one in Canada, and one in the Czech Republic.  Fio can only speculate that English students in Germany, France, Latvia. China, and the Czech Republic are using her blog to practice their English reading skill.

All in all, not bad for someone who doesn't advertise.

Small World

Daughter and Husband are heading out on their eight-month-delayed honeymoon tomorrow.  Husband and Fio had  a delayed honeymoon too, but it was seven years late.  And we went to Mexico while they're going to Europe for three weeks--France, Spain, and Germany.

When Fiorella was is college, the pundits kept talking about how the world was getting smaller.  Fio didn't believe them then, but she was wrong.  The world is MUCH smaller now.  While her parents traveled from Texas to Ohio en famille once a year at the most, Fio has traveled to New York or its environs solo three times.  And she and Husband have visited Older Son and his wife in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Minnesota--and Younger Son in California,  Fio was even scheduled to visit Canada earlier this year, but the plane got stuck on the runway too long and she had to disembark.

Smaller and smaller. When's the next shuttle to Mars?
