Luann Rules!

Back to Luann. The comic strip has really picked up speed since its rocky transition from her high school days to her college career. Fio has especially enjoyed following the maturation of her brother, Brad, and his relationship with Toni Daytona. She likes Luann's parents too, and she also appreciates the fact that some of the students from Luann's high school are still in the scene--Bernice, Gunther, Tiffany--and that some have reentered the story lines, namely Leslie (the high school bully who is reforming himself), that Goth girl  (but where is Knute?), and Ox,  Now Fio wants to follow up on the teacher, the guidance counselor, little Elvis, and Bernice's brother. Inquiring minds want to know.

Updating Luann

Fiorella is happy about how things are developing in Luann.  After Toni Daytona turned down Luann's brother, Brad, when he proposed to her on last year's April Fool's Day, Toni proposed to him on this year's April Fool's Day.  He, of course, accepted and even shed a tear.  And so did Fiorella.

How does a comic strip engage readers like Fio?  By presenting interesting , consistent characters with intertwining stories. Fio was confident that Toni's old BF, Dirk, would reappear at some time, just as she knows Ann Eiffel will re-emerge to tangle with TJ again.

And the art's good too!

Time for TJ

Fiorella has been following the latest story line in Louann with a great deal of artistic interest. As those of you who read the comic strip know, not only has the cartoonist's drawing style evolved, but the characters have too. Louann has--uh--matured physically, and her brother, Brad, has turned into a hunk.

And now maybe it's TJ's turn--TJ, Brad's smarmy but good-hearted best friend. Currently TJ finally has his own story line, facing off with Ann Eiffel the Awful, the wicked manager of Wienie World who mistreated Brad, so maybe it's also time to give him an artistic re-do. How about a decent profile and maybe a more defined hairstyle?

By the way, Fio has noticed that TJ and Ann have the same face, except that she wears lipstick. Obviously they're made for each other.

It's A New Day! Hooray!

Brad has his job back! All's right with the world and there's hope for the rest of us.

Fiorella is a faithful follower of Luann, the popular newspaper comic strip, and she's been quite downhearted about Luann's brother, Brad, losing his firefighter job, then his fast food job. But if Brad can get his firefighter job back, with an even better relationship with his girlfriend as lagniappe, that means Younger Son will find work, Older Son's knee operation will proceed satisfactorily, and Fio's romances will get published.

And Obama will be re-elected.

Character Development

Fiorella has been following the metamorphosis of Brad with interest. You know--Brad, Louann's brother in the comic strip.

He's shaped up physically, started smiling a lot, lost that strange indentation in the back of his head, and developed a better profile. Just yesterday she notice his jaw's become more angular and masculine from the front. Yeah, our Brad is a chick magnet in the making.

Good thing too, with the lovely Toni as his girlfriend--but Fio has a feeling that his pretty new boss at Wienie World might try to stir up that pot.

Need Jobs

Seems like everyone's going through tough times right now. Younger Son is still job-hunting in California, as is Friend Suzy's husband in England. Fio usually turns to the newspaper comic strips for relief, but now Brad, Luanne's brother has been laid off from his EMS/firefighting job.

Fio doesn't like her comics striking that near home and hopes Brad will soon move to bigger and better as an encouragement to the rest of us.

Hmm, has Fio been striking a theme lately?

Brad the Stud

You know Fio is a Luann fan. She loves the comic strip's story lines, the way the characters are drawn, and the way they evolve. Brad, Luann's brother, is a case in point. Not only has his body shaped up, but his head has undergone subtle revisions as he's become more and more worthy of the divine Toni Daytona. The low hairline has receded a decent distance, the odd dent on the back of his head is gone, he's grown a neck, and his nose is less snub. And now, ta-da, he's developed a chin! Yes, Fio was thrilled to notice recently week that Brad's chin, formerly non-existent, now is pitched at a 90-degree angle.

But, as for TJ . . . .
